Brand New to Canada: SG-12 "SPAS"

Maybe Im not entirely following what OP is even saying...

I see ZERO mention of the size of shells he used to calculate his assessment.
Along with one or two other wild charges about TI violating the law.
  • Canadian Market Version: As mentioned previously, semi-automatic versions imported into Canada feature a custom-blocked 5.9-round tube to maximize capacity under Canadian legal limits while strictly preventing a 6th 3-inch shell from fitting.

Calcualtion is with 3" shells that the shotgun is chambered for.
No one gives a flying f*ck how many 2-3/4 (or even 1-3/4 minis) it can accomodate.

An informative post, if this was Coalition for Gun Control's forum fishing for inventive ways to screw the latest in RCMP approved firearms designs...

Like I said, the guy waited a few hours while salivating to rat on everyone. Glad you got your 5mins of fame.

"Hey TI, this seems like an issue, if it is you should contact everyone you sold to"

NAWWWWWWWWWWWW

Good lord. Every village has an idiot and this one's name is The Crover.

Hypothetically, could you unscrew the metal rod, put in some JB weld in the threads and screw it back in. Let it set and it would be legal?
The limiter must be permanently affixed with metal per the regulations. So welding, brazing, soldering, or other similar method.

Maybe TI can answer this.

Being that the sling loop atop the pistol grip is now metal, can we use it as a sling loop? Is it strong enough?

From TI’s product listing;

Improved reliability – Retains the solid gas-piston operating system while addressing key weaknesses of the original SPAS-12, including the loading mechanism, buffer, and sling attachment

So I’d assume the sling attachment should be good to go otherwise the weakness wouldn’t have been ‘addressed’..

Though I’ve been known to be wrong on more than one occasion..

That's a really good start :)
With the hook it seems like it could be quite manageable to shoot from the hip one handed.

If you were holding a shield with one arm, and the SPAS with the other, I could score a hit. Not sure I’d want that 21” barrel waiving around for someone to grab in a riot situation.

"Anyone shot it one handed using the hook yet?"
THE TERMINATOR - Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) Franchi SPAS-12 ...

Arnold shot it one-handed, with the stock completely removed.

I don't think I'd want to be in a riot and rely on a turkish shotgun to save my life ;)

the rear sling loop being in that spot is pretty goofy anyway, the split ring that holds the folding stock bolt would serve that purpose better
