Spoke with IRG today, they can and are importing as 3rd party, factory restricted versions for multiple individuals.

IRG does not currently list these on their websight.

These will come in first, and I'll encourage all who get these to the range to post their experiences here. I tip a hat to them as it's courageous to register anything, but it is a testament to the fact that a) they have a non-restricted designation (when 18") and b) these are prior to gun grab legislation so the proverbial loophole. It's a confidence vote that the Liberals can't grab them easily.

It's a long summer, what are the options in Canada for NR barrel with carbine length gas port that would work on MK-15? Are they available at all?

The .308 version comes from them with an 18” barrel. Why don’t we have a FRT for that baby ?

Happy to have a .556 available but let’s work to get that .308 up here asap.

Gravel needs to bring in a mountain of the BM-10LR for when it is given NR status. It would be nice if it was silence till they could be in Canada {no pre order bs}

It’s not the Makasi platform (MK-x) - it’s BM-10LR, their take on an AR10, or more precisely a LR-308 as far as I can tell, and it’s prohibited. Clears it all up for ya?

I'm not familiar with re-barreling hardware options. Anyone?

The individuals having the 16" version imported are presumably planning to re-barrel to NR status.
The individuals having the 10.5" version imported are presumably planning to keep as a Restricted rifle.

WK180 and other 180 carbine gas style barrels seems like a good potential source for NR barrels. Should be lots sitting around.

I don't know about anyone else, but I am seriously stoked about the MK15 coming to us soon. Maybe it's years of having to simply accept "cope guns" or Frankenguns made to placate our stupid new Liberal legislation. The fact that we can get in something that would cause Pop Can Gopher Nathalie to blow a gasket is very satisfying indeed. I just keep reminding myself how absolutely rude she was to the Rebel News reporter who simply wanted to get your feedback and response to the anti-gun laws she is pushing and interestingly enough, when the pressure is on and there is no Gary to push, she stays mum.

When my MK15 comes in, I will appropriately name it The Provost Pop Can Pew Pew.

Meh. TBH, I far prefer the aesthetic of the "classic" FAL-style side-folding Buttstock, albeit configured to fold to the Right the same as the Para FAL. This of course presumes a comfortable, average, fixed Length Of Pull. If it has a decent LOP, then I have no need for a collapsible Buttstock and can instead spend the money on a decent match-grade trigger....

It's all good, as you said - each to their own. If I wanted a more modern/streamlined look for my new rifle that would likely be the Buttstock to have and thanks to you we have the best available price. I'm an old bugger, and my tastes run to the Cold War classics such as the FAL. The more FAL content there is in the Makasi, the better from my perspective, but I also realize that this is not everyone's cup of tea. Enjoy your shiny new Magpul Buttstock!
