Brno model 21/22, Serial Number and Date Analysis, HELP build it together !

Based on serial number patterns thus far, it appears round top actions persisted until 1949 to approximate serial no. 27### in the form of '22' carbines. The earliest DSB, thus far, is a 1948 21H model at serial 215xx. So, in summary, it appears the '21' rifles got the DSB actions a year earlier than the '22' carbines.

Baribal is quite right, after 1950, production numbers were much less; approximately 1000 units per year. This is quite evident in the serial number patterns and associated date ranges. This also supports the notion that after the Galas design ZG-47 was finalized, the model 21/22 was essentially assembled from a parts inventory.

List of unusual or rare factory features, based on a sample size of 121:

brazed-on round bolt handle, 3
claw mounts, 6
single trigger, 5
single-set trigger, 3
without bolt guide rib, 3
ZG-47 bolt handle, 4
ZG-47 safety, 1

No examples, yet, of a factory original Brno 21/22 with a factory-added complete bolt assembly (bolt body, shroud, safety)... though one member has a 1950 21H with a complete bolt--probably added after.

1936 variant... very early in the evolution of the 21/22, but not quite the same model. Photos courtesy on Don Beasley.

Hi all; The serial number list and summary tables on pages 1 and 2 are now updated. A 1949 22H DSB in 8x57 was added today.
