In the 60's and 70's a lot of Brno 22's were altered with good target sights for competition .22 sporting rifle class. Some of them were even put into CIL 190 stocks...
The older unaltered ones are very desirable today.
I have one model 5 that came with the Parker-Hale sights and one that has a Redfield which the receiver is drilled and tapped for and the stock relieved. Both are lovely, mintish guns. Interestingly they both have model 1 barrels.
Do u find the safety stiff and hard to apply or release.
Over the last four decades, I have owned a couple dozen Brno .22s and only a very few had anything like a smooth safety. Most were stiff, some very stiff, and my simple attempts to smooth them out (disassembly and polishing, greasing, etc.) never really suceeded. There may be a trick to getting them smoother, but I don't know what it is. If anyone has had success in smoothing ot the Brno .22 saftey, I would like to hear about it.
Nice Brnos tracker! Mind you to me all Brnos are nice! I'm curious though, I can't be the only one with a model 5 that has a model 1 stamped barrel? I have had four, currently own two. Anyone else out there have one? If so, what are the details and serial number range? Although I'm guessing we'll never know, I'm curious how many were manufactured. I'm speculating that they are transition guns using up remaining model one barrels.
