Sunday was a beautiful day for shooting, and we even broke two guns!

Tried out the new Tavor, nice machine. Seems like a lot of recoil for just a .223 firearm. The ammonia in the face was also a little unpleasant. I love this rifle.

When I stripped the rifle for cleaning I noticed a scratch on the bolt. On further inspection you can see the carrier has a chip broken out of it. Nothing serious and I won't loose and sleep over it. The rifle works flawlessly and shoots like a dream. I just thought it would be nice to scare all the guys with a fake broken Tavor thread. :D

Onto the XCR. The more time I spend with this rifle, the more I despise it. After putting less than 100 rounds through it (that's total for the life of the rifle) we started getting some trigger issues. Turns out we broke one of the little spring clips that holes the hammer pin in. Who builds a so-called special forces rifle with s**tty little spring clips holding the pins in place? No wonder it failed the trials. I'm probably going to make a new pin that is held in place with E-clips or something.

I hate this rifle.

Is that damage under warranty ??
( Or is it a physical Damage ?? )
Is CanAm will do something ???? ( e/g . replace a new BC for you ?? )

Thats to bad about these rifles; I was thinking about acquiring a Tavor myself but it looks like I'll be sticking with my AR-180B.

It really says a lot for the "butt ugly" mini-14 - I had one for years and it never let me down.

O-well, I'm sure these minor bugs can be worked out (loctite, replacing clips, etc) until they are reliable rifles.

Its great that we can own them and enjoy them; so long as there are no catastrophic failures.

I've always considered "minor gun smithing" to be part of the hobby (at least with my $400 M14, perhaps not as much with a $3,000.00 rifle)

Why? There is nothing wrong with the rifle. It's a tiny little chip that in no way effects the operation of the rifle. I think the bolt may be hardened, so a little chip like that is nothing. We shot the #### out of the Tavor on Sunday and the action is spotless.

Any one thinking this is a reason not to buy a Tavor is just looking for excuses not to spend the money on this awesome rifle. Highly accurate for such a compact unit.

However, if you hate the XCR, good work. It's sucks monkey balls.

Wow one of my $150 Chinese built SKS puts 200 rounds downrange every range visit for the past 2 years without a hiccup. :p

One would think the highly acclaimed companies that make these rifles would be offering a better product...Especially for the amount of coin that is being handed over for these rifles.

Keep us posted as to how the warranties go.

Your $150 SKS can't hit a cow at 20 feet.

No issues with the Tavor, won't even pursue any warranty stuff. The Robarm is a different story, seems we'll have to get a new spring clip from them, which will take time. I'm probably just going to make a new pin that locks with an e-clip.

Even though the XCR only has 100 rounds in it, the thing is already looking beat to ####. The bolt hold open is all dinged up and deformed, the little pin half falling out. The ejection port is already showing bare aluminum in spots.

Even this tiny chip doesn't effect the operation of the rifle, I think it's not a good sign for a brand new firearm, why don't you contact CanAM? maybe they can exchange one for you.

no need, if everybody whined and asked for replacement stuff for something as minor as this is then we wouldnt have cool guns like the tavor....

i dunno why anyone would waste money/time on an xcr. It looks like it was built in someones garage...get rid of it while ur still ahead (or not too far behind rather)

Not a big deal? Chips in high stress areas turn into cracks.

Keep shooting and wait for the bolt to not come back with the carrier one of these times.
God you're slow..

it works fine right now, but who knows after 1 or 2 thousand rounds. I wouldn't care if the small chip is on the stock, but the chip on the carrier makes me uncomfortable. If I were you, I'll try to contact the seller.

my 2 cents.

Talked to Mark at CanAmmo and they are replacing bolt and carrier with no issues at no cost.Top notch Warranty on these guns. Not sure what happened as their Demo guns have 20000 rnds with no marks at all.
Issue resolved

Obviously, with any mechanical device, failures can occur. We will be discussing it with IWI. As said above we will be replacing the affected parts ASAP.
