Sunday was a beautiful day for shooting, and we even broke two guns!
Tried out the new Tavor, nice machine. Seems like a lot of recoil for just a .223 firearm. The ammonia in the face was also a little unpleasant. I love this rifle.
When I stripped the rifle for cleaning I noticed a scratch on the bolt. On further inspection you can see the carrier has a chip broken out of it. Nothing serious and I won't loose and sleep over it. The rifle works flawlessly and shoots like a dream. I just thought it would be nice to scare all the guys with a fake broken Tavor thread.
Onto the XCR. The more time I spend with this rifle, the more I despise it. After putting less than 100 rounds through it (that's total for the life of the rifle) we started getting some trigger issues. Turns out we broke one of the little spring clips that holes the hammer pin in. Who builds a so-called special forces rifle with s**tty little spring clips holding the pins in place? No wonder it failed the trials. I'm probably going to make a new pin that is held in place with E-clips or something.
I hate this rifle.
