Finally mustered the courage to chop the stock and I'm glad I did, added a couple of threaded inserts, rubbed tung oil into the cut segment and finished off with a 1/8" aluminum plate.
Doubtless not the best of ideas for my shoulder but in the spirit of a "whippit" gun I figured it would have been preferable if butt-stroking was required.
Besides, can't be worse than a Kar98K, right?

18 in is for non semi guns, 18 1/2 min for semi, but as Guntech said, cut the barrel abit longer, so if something happens to the muzzle, you can still cut a little off.Yup.
And going shorter then 18 doesnt make it restricted. It makes it PROHIB if you are cutting it down yourself. You can BUY the shorter barrel, but cutting it down yourself under 18" will make it prohib.
