Browning Recoilless.....

Great news, Frank! If it shoots as good as it looks you have a real winner there.

Of course, I know that you could pick up a rusty old Ithaca 37 with a sewer pipe for a barrel, some old boxes of Dominion duck loads, and break a hundred straight with it................

How was your goose hunt?

Doug

The photos remind me of the bizarre long long pump shotguns that were cobbled together by amateurs to achieve mega capacity tube magazines in the early days of practical shooting sports, as seen on the TV show 'The American Shooter.' I remember one guy who'd achieved something like a 20 shell tube capacity complaining that when he swung the gun the shells would shift in the tube so much that it would literally throw the gun to one side. Of course rule changes took care of that sort of silliness but ah, little did I know those would be the good old days. But anyway, that is a really interesting gun in the OP there, I wonder which came first, the bubba or the Browning?

How you doing Doug old pal? The goose hunting has been tough for local birds going into the third year of drought and no goslings but we are still getting a few. Lots of ducks this year though, in fact the most pintails I've seen in the 11 seasons I've lived here now. We celebrated my trapshooting buddy Ed's 69th birthday this morning in the blind hunting ducks in a pea field. Pics are in the 2023 waterfowl thread!

Excellent! No waterfowl for me this year, I had my right shoulder re-constructed (major repair) in July. So no 12 gauge shooting for sure. I find out from the surgeon in mid-October if he will clear me to fire a rifle during deer season. I will miss the goose hunting a couple hours east of here - it is generally a very good hunt and lots of fun with old buddies. NEXT year!!!

Doug you come out here and I'll guarantee I'll pull them in close enough for you to use a 4:10! Or you could load some trap loads with bismuth and use my recoilless! ;)

Having seen you work, I am sure this is true. But no shotgunning for me this fall. I will take a rain check though! ;)
