My x-bolt is the composite stalker in 7mm WSM. It's a good shooter. I don't mind the kick. It's not as bad of kick as my Ruger M77 in 7 Rem Mag had. The bolt just doesn't seem that smooth to me. When I chamber a round it seems like there's a spring or something that requires me to give an exta millimeter of push before I can bring the bolt handle down. After firing I bring the bolt handle up, and on the first natural break of the motion, it's not up high enough yet. It needs another little bit to go before I can bring the bolt back. The feel when I load a round, or unload a round just feels 'chunky' when I bring the bolt handle either up or down. I don't like that. But it does shoot good. I'm sure I'd never buy another one. But I'm not sure yet if I want to sell this one. 3 shots touching at 100 yards means I can live with a 'chunky' feeling bolt. If the lack of smooth action causes me to miss an opportunity at game, then I'll get rid of it. I haven't had it hunting yet, so we'll see.
