Bucket lists

He he he..... most turkey areas are shotgun only these days.... you need to spread the fan out.... lol... just pickin' at you... here's a couple of mine....

You know what, you guys will chuckle, but have yet to take a turkey. I get jealous seeing these pics, but now I finally have a turkey season within 10 hours again, I'm out of excuses, this is the year. Birds are my favourite to hunt, and eat, so this is one of my bucket lists.

Africa does not appeal to me neither, though I do not having against it. Would just prefer to hunt in NA. Also my bucket list is not as exotic as most of you guys.

In no particular order:

Muskox
Elk (in the mountains)
Bison
Mule deer
Wolf

You're a lucky man, as they say, "Happiness is wanting what you have.". North America is arguably still the world's premier hunting destination and as time goes by, it becomes more so. As long as Alberta's cull zone stays an operational grey area, your Wood Bison is doable, just a severe logistical challenge as the area's so remote. Message me for a primer / rundown if curious how to do the Wood Bison hunt, cheap, if not already familiar.

I am partial to upland myself... One of my bucket list items is quite doable as well.... a pheasant hunt over quality dogs..... The spring turkey hunt is something special to me because it finally marks the time when winter has truly passed and one can get out of the house and chase something other than coyotes.... Mind you, this spring's first gobbler was harvested in balmy 3 degree weather..... lol

I have turkeys roosting in the big cedars at the back of my property, Merriams I assume, if I wanted one it would be like shooting fish in a barrel. Might hold off and take one from my wheelchair when I'm 90 just to say I can still hunt.................

Oh and hey, I just picked up a 10 gauge Ithaca Mag 10, I have been invited for a goose shoot this fall and decided to get myself properly outfitted for said adventure. I understand this is also a great choice for turkey, so there it is, I'm set for turkey killin' too. Maybe I'll have to go down and visit SB during turkey season and learn the correct way to hunt turkey.........he said that using the Hornet was inappropriate.......I don't know how else to kill a turkey at 150 mtrs, but regardless I'm sure I could use some learnin'.

Lol.... where I am at it is hard to see 150 meters..... this years birds were #### at about 15 and 5 meters.... you are more than welcome but be forwarned that my wine comes from the corner store... I am an excellent cook however (nobody has died yet).... and being of scottish descent I always have a good bottle of glenfiddich or dewars handy.....

I appreciate the offer, might take you up on that in a few years but it will be a few years before I am able to start spending big cash(for me) on hunting trips. My top four up there will I'm sure run me 10K + per hunt, which for me right now is out of reach. Will have to stick to deer, moose and blackies here until my daycare bills are gone(this year looking at 18K!!!!!:puke:).

Although my wife has a business trip scheduled for Sept 2015, might be able to tag along/get a free ride and squeeze in a hunt maybe while she is working..........well one can wish!

Well.... I am a pretty stout lad and own my old regiments record for the 100 meter fireman's carry..... I suppose I could schlep you in.... lol

The deer here are just for eating anyway. If you want a really nice whitetail you owe it to yourself to make friends with someone in Alberta or Saskatchewan who can take you out for free as a hunter host.

Domestic:
Whitetail in the 160-180+Range
Elk 6x6 300+
Mule deer 160-180+
Black bear
Moose 50+
Possibly a caribou

Foreign:
Crocodile/Alligator
Red Stag
Kudu
Chital deer
Sambar
Red Deer

I have nowhere near your experience... But I have always had cape buffalo up top... Just their toughness and charge ability...

You ain't missin much. Go shoot your neighbours bull. It's not much different, aside from the fact the bull would look better on Your wall

Wow. Nice job of trying to crush the guy's dream. I can't imagine how your experience with buff could turn you so bitter, but I hope and trust that Superbrad has read enough and communicated with enough other hunters to know that your take on buffalo hunting is very uncommon. The majority of buff hunters can't stop at just one. A true dangerous-game hunt, available at prices usually far below any others (except for maybe some tuskless elephant hunts), and a trophy that most hunters will look at with a wistful smile for years or decades after the hunt is over.

RF458.................your posts of late seem quite dour............have a bad hunting season?..........marital problems?............kid problems, work problems? Hunting is supposed to be upbeat and manage stress created in the rest of our lives, I truly believe this, which would explain my need to kill hundreds of head of game.........;);):rolleyes:............Dogleg must have the most stressful life on the planet..........:d:d
