I don't think handguns are going away any time soon. Buy something nice. Something with a nice trigger, good sights, and fits your hand comfortably.
there you go

There is a M&P Gen 2 on the exchange for $450. Better buy than new Norincos by a large margin. You can play IDPA/IPSC with the gun or just shoot tin cans at your gun club, subject to the rules of the club of course. I just tapped out my next gun account or I would buy it just because of the price.

what do you like better gen 1 or 2?
I have not shot the Gen 2. The Gen 1 was a very good pistol. The Gen 2 has some improvements and being newer will be the gun after market part makers will support. Out of the box the Gen2 trigger is said to be better. If I didn't have my eye on another project I would have bought the Gen2 for $450. That is a steal, frankly.
Nothing wrong with the M&P in either Generation. A few years ago a Master shooter came to our Provincials. Used my Gen1 M&P to beat the field by a few minutes over 12 stages. I never forgave the gun. It never shot that well when I was pulling the trigger. LOL
Get the Gen2 if you can.

P.S. You called Xmetal bullets unloadable so I don't have high hopes for you Meroh, lol.
Oops! I kind of misspoke, mine is actually an NP-40 in 40 S&W! If you are curious yet it is the Remington UMC enclosed base "lead free" (pretty sure that's not accurate, as it sure looks like a lead core) 180 gr. bullets. Very, very wide meplat. I don't think I've seen any other semi auto cartridge bullets with that big a flat before. Looks more like a big flat nose that would be more at home in a revolver.
