Budget 9mm?

To the OP:
There are 3 FNS9s in the low $400s on the EE right now. They come with at least 3 magazines. The FNS in 9mm or 40SW are quality pistols from FN, one of the most respected manufacturers in the world.

Oh yeah you can go wrong with an sd9ve lol, it’s possibly the worst pistol I’ve ever shot. My tt-33 has a better trigger than the sd9ve, and that’s saying a lot.

Except the one he pointed out was the M&P 9MM for $330. My buddy Phat Eagle is aware of the sd9ve pitfalls and wasn't recommending it.

Take Care

Can’t go wrong with the smith and Wesson sd9 ve. Great budget pistol.

The is something oddly satisfying with being able to shoot well, a budget priced pistol, with a less than ideal trigger pull.

I got my SD9VE on E.E, new, never fired, for 300 bucks shipped. Yes, there are good deals on E.E.

The Girsan MC 28 is another challenging budget gun, which can show amazing results.

But the one I have with the most horrendous first shot trigger pull, is the Tara TM 9.

Still, the first day out, I put 10 shots in the black at 7 yds. Made me feel warm and fuzzy all over.

Anyone can shoot a mid to upper priced pistol well, but try it with a POC gun!:d

Hello fellow gun nutz

I'm thinking about getting a 9mm pistol but want to be economical given the uncertainty about handgun ownership.

I've looked into some of the options but wanted to get some feedback from more experienced folks here.

Don't want to buy junk and some of the Turkish pistols really rubbed me the wrong way.

Any suggestions would be welcome

Thanks

here you go ...... i have dealt with him before!

I have about 12,000 from my NP 22. Ive long since upgraded to a sig brand sig but Ill never sell the NP 22 cause it is reliable and accurate enough. Trigger is sub par but you get what you pay for.

Hey OP, which pistol did you end up going with? Looking for myself as well ;p

Looks like an np22.

Do yourself a favor and spend a few more bucks and buy a gently used shadow for around 700.
I started off with a m&p9 that I bought used for a little over $300 and after a little while I swapped it for a used cz 75 sp01. Should have bought that one right away.

Can’t argue against a CZ 75 SP-01. Great all around choice. However it’s hard to find a good used one for 700 though. More likely to spend 800-900 and up for a lightly used Shadow I think. I am looking for one too.

hands down - MP 9, ergonomic SA pistol, you can pick up here for ranging 400 - 550, with 3X mags and holster etc. Get a 2.0 ..... 9mm is probably the cheapest bulk ammo you can find as well....

Apply for the Equipment Exchange (icon up above in tool bar). You are still new and may not know about the many ways to spend your money and get divorced. You will find those $700 SP-01s here if you’re fast.

Or a Norinco NZ85. I picked one up slightly used for around $300. Another $25 for some Hogue grips and $25 for a better mainspring and recoil spring and it’s a fantastic pistol.

Picked up a new one a few years back; after 200 rounds and lots of dry firing, the springs are just fine. Grips were poor; I put a set of CZ over-molded rubber grips, and that made it. Holster was hard to find (slide profile is different than CZ, but got an Uncle Mikes that works great. I have handled and shot CZs and they are nice, but the Nork version is just as accurate, the trigger, once broke in is just as good. It is a keeper.
