Alright guys, I finally got around to getting the bedding finished and the cross bolts installed and proofing it. I used factory Norma ammo 570gr bullet at 2200 fps, I fired 2 rounds remotely with OILED cases, I wiped the chamber with a Q-tip covered in 10w30 and coated each bullet in 10w30 before firing. the cases look perfect, you would almost think i just pulled the bullets.
in the series of pics you will see the setup and the results of the firing and recoil, also the butt stock indents on the log from the recoil and the cases them selves.
now to add some iron sights, paint the barrel black and call her done.
Pic 1 is the setup, the vice is hand tight to keep the rifle upright, it slides around very easy, next to no hold on the barrel
Pic 2 is the 3 bullets getting ready to go
Pic 3 is a loaded oiled round
Pic 4 is the aftermath of the first firing, not bad, the bolt opened like the chamber was empty, 100% zero added lift or pull to the bolt
pic 5 is also the aftermath of the first firing different angle
Pic 6 is the aftermath of the second round fired, this time I just set the barrel on the vice like it was a rest, clearly the gun jumped pretty good.
Pic 7 is another pic of the second firing aftermath
Pic 8 is the log that was stopping the rifle, you can see the flat head screw from the butt plate on the second shot location
the rest are of the cases for visual comparison
