Buy a new handgun with the possiblity Trudeau takes it away?

some of us have bad this black cloud floating over our head for almost 30 years now, since C-68 came into play, you can get up every day and enjoy life and what it offers, or you can pull the blankets back up over your face and cry.......your choice.......my advice, buy it now, have some fun, join in the fights to keep it, and if by chance they should win, save all of your money from shooting, take vacations, and spend that money out of the country........hit them twice

Buy from a dealer, private sales take forever to process. I've been waiting 5 weeks, so far.

BTW, that Girson MC 28, is a fine weapon at any price, and extra clips are relatively cheap, and easy to find.

More we buy the better. I would not be scared of private deal, BC Cfo did one last week got it approved and shipped same day I said I will take it. Get Cfo to email registration then you don’t have to wait for snail mail to take it out.

I only own 1 22 handgun that my son and I shoot at the range. I was about to buy a new 9mm the Girsan MC28 as I found a good price on one. 330 dollars for the gun and kit but the sale ends next week.

But with all these guns Sock boy just banned I am second guessing myself. Are any of you still by restricteds or are you sitting on the fence waiting for the other shoe to drop?

Well back in 1996-8, this same crap was going on, and guys where dumping their guns, because the Liberial A.H.'s where going to take them all. Allan Rock was just like blair, I just keep buying handguns, but if you run scared, don't buy the damn thing. BTW Some of the guys that sold their 4 in colt pythons for 400.oo are kicking them self in the ass now.

I'd suggest buy the best you can afford. CZ Shadow, CZ P10, Sig P320, Glock would be on my list. Find an instructor. Get a Black Badge, both of you.

I'm very happy I was able to get a few restricteds and teach my daughter to run carbine and pistol. In her first comp season, she was comfortably in the middle of the pack in Production division. Regardless of what the future might bring, these skills (and good memories) are hers forever.

I hope she should be able to continue mastering gun control (shooting on the move in particular). Need to find a good replacement NR carbine.

Liberals have been fairly consistent regarding handguns, asserting they will give individual municipalities the 'right' to ban them.
This is unworkable as far as I can see as our right to acquire and possess firearms is provided through federal legislation (FA). So what are we really talking about? Municipalities can harass gun ranges and clubs by tweaking zoning bylaws and attempting to shut them down that way. But this is not a handgun ban. To ban handguns municipalities would first need legislation enabling this new power (constitutionally dubious) and would need to know where the handguns are (who possess them; massive privacy implications)...and then what. Force owners to move for the city or face confiscation? So where is the money coming from for a buyback? Are the taxpayers of Toronto going to be happy to poney up unknown sums to confiscate legal firearms from licensed, vetted while gang shootings/killings continue uninterrupted? It's a political loser and it's why JT wants to push this onto the munis. This way he can claim to be doing something while leaving the munis to sort out what will prove to be an unworkable legal mess.

Central storage is possible, but again, very difficult to pull together, expensive, and not unlikely to win any votes (the antis will love it, but they were going to vote JT anyway). What would be sensible is mandating we all invest in safes to hold our firearms to prevent the easy theft of firearms.

Everyone has an opinion when it comes to spending someone else’s money. You have to decide if taking the chance to buy it and have the experience with your son is worth the risk. If you don’t then you and your son will never know what it’s like. You could go and rent at a range or buy it and enjoy the hell out of it while you can. It’s just money but memories with family is priceless.

Buy two, one for you and one for your son. If you don't want the same gun the Tara tm9 with 2nd strike capability is on $300. And if you are worried about the money, just go on CERB or get your son to go on CESB and when the money arrives, buy 2 more guns.

If you're too frightened, don't do it. Leave it to the grown ups.
I just bought a couple this weekend.

With handguns, it might depend on where you live. The Liberals' ideas seems to be to allow local governments to "ban" handgun possession within their boundaries. I live in a small City outside Vancouver with a leftish government, but a Mayor and council that are open to rational arguments about policy. So I've already been in touch with them to let them know that they have a few serious target shooters in town, it's just a sport, we're all about as respectable as you can get, we all have gun safes, and absolutely nothing to do with the drug gangs. So I'm cautiously optimistic. (That might be naive, we'll see.) It'll be interesting to see if the Liberal plan gives city governments some discretion in the type of ban they choose to adopt. Also, I understand there may be a decent constitutional challenge to this local ban idea, better than for the current OIC on semiauto rifles. The Supreme Court of Canada has always been very clear that firearms law is a criminal matter and only the federal Parliament can deal with it. Granting cities the right to opt in or out of a part of federal criminal law might be beyond federal powers.

At only $330 , you best grab the gun if you want it . Regardless of what happens ; you will probably get the option of grandfathering , or a buy back if handguns go prohib .

If I have to buy 3000$ handguns I will think twice, but 300$ gun....come one.....some people spend on a bar night 300$.

I’ve been a gun owner long enough to know that the only fear I should be living in is the fear of things selling out and it taking forever to be restocked. Sometimes things sell out and are never seen again.
