Wasn't there rules in place by the government that prevented the old company Diemaco selling to the public, wouldn't the same apply to Colt Canada? I can't see the government approving this.
That is why it has been years of talk without product becoming available.
Last I heard the first offering was going to be a 16" IUR Carbine.
The thing I don't get is how the government can stop an independent company from selling legal products to lawful citizens. If it were a crown corp maybe but Colt Canada/Colt LLC is a independent Corporation. The only thing I can see that would be able to do that is if their were conditions in the original contracts for the C7.
My guess since CC is even considering this is that it was just company policy or a non-official agreement with the Govt., but things might have changed in management with the re-structuring of Colt.

Are there no other budget 20" rifles besides bushmaster and the stag arms?
