Is the slip on rubber pad generally black or green?
-Early ones were Black, new ones are green
Is this a Diemaco only product?
-Yes Diemaco makes Tri ads only and souces the rubber pads

For those who use foregrips, do you basically add those screw on rails onto the furniture?
-The rail is attached with two screws that go through the handgaurd holes into a threaded washer

They really are a crap grip.
All parts, Folding hand grip, tri-mount, 6in Rail, are supplied by Cadex Inc to DND.
I dont think CADEX makes the tri-ads, They made something similar for someone else but not the CF army. Plus CADEX finish stardard is much better then the Tri-ad and plus there name is not on the tri-ad.
The Triad is absolute junk, whoever came up with that gem should be pissed on and shot. It places the light/PAQ/PEQ too far forward in an exposed position,leaving them prone to damage. The CADEX fore grip/rail system is an absolute balls up, never mount a vert fore grip on the "plastic" hand guards,it allows the shooter to put too much torque on the hand guard in most cases popping the lower hand guard off of the weapon. The only solution to mounting both the aiming devices/lights and the fore grip is a dedicated rail system.
There was no need to upgrade all the C7A1 to A2, second line units have no need of them the A1 suits them just fine,if they had concentrated on the first line units the upgrade (I use the term very loosely as there was no upgrade ,just some furniture changes) could have been done much more efficiently without the soldier having to go out of pocket to correct the half assed job.

Does anything think a 6 position stock is in the future? I think a green 6 position and midlength would make a nice rifle. If they were saving money, we could they not install cheaper two piece non-free-floating rail handguards? What does that foregrip look like? Is it the one on a C9, or something new?
Lol, I use one from a C9. Then again, I was issued a C7A2 with standard handguards and didn't really bother getting too much goochie s**t for it like other peeps while over there. Actually, I've got a C9 rear-grip substituted as a foregrip on my personal carbine, too (take a look at my profile pic to see).
Was a C9 gunner for almost 4 years straight. Got plenty of spare C9 widgits scattered about. Was a fun and hateful role. Am glad ranked spaced me from that position (for time being).
All the parts came to our unit in individual baggies with Cadex Inc on them + the NSN...... we had to install them...
The tri-ad is on the Colt Canada website...
The folding grip is not the problem, it's the way it's mounted. The rail is attached by two screws that will pop off if enough force is put on it. Instead of throwing money way on green furniture and the ambi-stuff. We should have just rebarreled enough C7's with 14-5" or 16" to equip all the Infantry regiments.
