Cadex CDX Precision Rifle ( New pics with a PGW )

The rifle recoiled straight back. Camera shook more than the rifle.

Recoiling straight back is a function of properly executing the fundamentals, nothing to do with what's on the end of your rifle.

Here's a video showing a similar rifle with no muzzle brake, with very similar recoil characteristics:

I didn't mean to drag this out, but I prefer actual objective statements. I had no clue what "insane" meant, and honestly I still don't in reference to this brake.

Hmm range looks familiar ... The real question is ... Were you the guy that #### the bench ?

Haha I kid I kid ! Looks good !

Hahahahahaha. wasn't me I swear....

Nice! I'm sure you enjoyed your first day at the range, after the long wait! :)

Can you describe how it feels shooting this nice rifle? How's the trigger? Recoil? Etc.

I agree you need to get into reloading to really see what she's capable of.

Off topic... I like the reloading targets you used. Where did you get them? It would be nice to have something like that for testing my reloads.

I found the targets on google image search.

I got the same feeling getting behind this rifle than I got when I sat in a Lambo.

The trigger is nice and crisp, and is very predictable. I'm still going to try out Trigger Tech's new trigger once they get released just to compare the 2. Not much recoil, but the muzzle blast and sound makes you feel alive.

I dont have any plans to get into reloading or do I have desirer to do it. Maybe on day when i'm out of the military and live in my own house and have the room. But right now its not an option.

Just ordered some Match ammo from cabela's, Hopefully it will shrink my groups a bit more next time out.

The only picture from me shooting yesterday... lol.

Unless you run FGMM (federal gold medal match) that is not going to work out for you. You do not need a lot of room to reload and $1000 bucks gets you set up. Proper factory match like FGMM will cost you a small fortune to shoot in the long run.

Printing groups doesn't do anything for me. I actually find it quite boring. I much rather shoot steel and have fun, hearing targets go " DING " makes me happy...

So if I find factory ammo that shoots good enough I will be happy with that. and go back to cheap PMC for plinking.

You'd love the modern hunter! Offhand shooting gongs at 100 is a blast!

its next on my list, just need to replenish the gun fund. Its in the negative after buying this one... lol...

But I already know i'm putting a specter Dr 1.5-6 on it :)

But this is at least a couple of years away.

Does not do anything for me either, it's training to work on your shooting consistency. Doing dot drills is also a very good way to improve your shooting skills.
Since you are in Vic you should check out the BCRA tactical rifle practice/matches up in Nanaimo. Shooting movers is good fun and great to learn.
If you find some factory ammo that your rifle likes it will work fine for all of the above gongs included, it's just way easier with reloading.

C'mon, tell him the truth, if he starts reloading, he'll just have more ammo to shoot, and he will shoot more, nobody loads ammo for storage, lol!

It'll cost him a small fortune if he buys factory match ammo, but so will reloading, developing loads, countless mistakes on the way to finding the perfect formula, time spent reloading...........

No matter what, nobody saves money in this hobby, lol!

I like shooting small steel targets, a long way away, consistently. And to do that you need to be able to print sub moa groups consistently.
You've bought your Lamborghini, are fueling it with 87 octane, and are using it to go to the grocery store.
It's your Lamborghini/rifle, but I wouldn't be able to help but pass judgement on either behaviour if I witnessed it in person.

My guess is, limited access to ranges that reach out beyond 200m…..at least that’s the way it is for me living in Vancouver. I think there’s a range further out that reaches out to 300m, but for this rifle to really stretch it’s legs, he’d have to find a 1,000m range, or know where on crown land to shoot that far. A lot of folks don’t have access to places like these. I’ve been lucky, I have a few friends who’ve taken me out to shoot in places that are 1k, but even though I have my own truck, I’d probably never be able to find on my own and I’d be stuck shooting at 200m all the time.

The comparison to a Lambo isn’t quite accurate I don’t think. An M200 Chey Tac Intervention that runs $15k would be more akin to a Lambo. The Cadex rifle is clearly an awesome rifle, but not completely beyond the reach of most shooters as a Lambo is for most drivers. Besides, most of the Lambo drivers around town don’t drive them the way they should be driven, most probably can’t drive them very well at all as Lambos are usually can be found with an “N” (for new drivers) on it, lol!

I’m pretty sure DILLIGAF works for a living, not some spoiled little $hit trust-fund baby who’s filthy rich parents bought him a Lambo with their embezzled money from the PRC. He chose to spend his money on the Cadex, which is more like an M3 cost-wise.

Folks probably shouldn’t be harping on him for using factory ammo and for not getting into reloading after his first trip to the range with his rifle. May as well tell anyone considering getting a PAL not to bother unless they do things by the book, your book. Not everyone has access to long range shooting, and many will be happy to pound the gong at their local ranges, nothing wrong with that at all :)

Understatement of the year! People who post here should realize that their way of thinking is not the be-all, end-all of human existence. You know.... relax and open your mind to alternative ways of doing things.

That's my polite way of saying "mind your own business".

Carry-on Dilli. Enjoy that rifle!

This has the 2 stage trigger, correct? How easy is it to adjust? What weight range can each stage be adjusted to? This is particularly important if you're running a heavier trigger weight. A 1.5 lb. first stage with a 1 lb. second stage vs. a 2 lb. first stage with a 0.5 lb. second stage feel very different. On some triggers, the later can't be achieved, or can't be achieved well because the first stage is too rough if you adjust it that high and this causes you to inadvertently fire when trying to find the second stage wall.
