The 'concept' of the Para deal was it would be cheaper. Seems that SVI cheap would be thousands of dollars = pass. I would rather have a BHP, but Dlask nice too.
You don't have a BHP.........hand in your coin

My $.02 worth - it's GHEY to restrict it only to active service personnel.
1) The more you sell the cheaper it will be.
2) There are TONS of RCMP/CBSA/DND Civ/CSIS ppl who make serious contributions to the defense of Canada and it's dumb (IMHO) not to make them elligible because of point 1.
3) Some weekend-warrior navy reservist doing shore duty with the GG guard in Ottawa gets to buy one, but a LEO or DND Civ or Defence contractor who actually sails/flies/or has boots on the ground in A-stan is excluded? C'mon. Dumb.
Or in my case, I have a service number from spending under a year at RMC but never served outside a schools setting. I've spent far more time contributing to the CF as a civi, but I qualify on the former but not on the latter? Double-dumb.
Just my $.02 worth - your mileage may vary.
Oh yeah the Para deal was cheap... I guess Para f**ked up and made the Gun cheap instead of the price
You said it first, therefore...........Only be interested if it was in 9mm.
A 9mm version on a 1911 frame would also be of interest to me.
I concur, Military, Current or Honourably retired.
(Membership has it's privledges...and responsibilities. If you weren't entitled to a military discount on something, would you still try and claim it?? Could you stand in front of a guy getting off the plane in Trenton and explain yourself to him?)
Ideas to consider:
1. Service number as S/N
2. Perhaps a maple-leaf on the front-strap of the pistol (harken back to the old Lend-Lease Inglis's?) a bit of history brought forward into modern times.
3. Unit/Command cap-badge engraved on the slide?
4. Maple-leaf engraved on slide?
There can be TOO much "bling" on some of the "commemoratives", so perhaps a more muted statement can be made?
I would prefer a non-painted finish (parkerizing please!) because with use the paint will just chip and peel off.
NS
Secondly, Dlask is a single stack option, whereas SV would get you double stack.
I am not in the military nor have I ever been. Having said that, I still feel I should be given a sweet uniform and a military pension. May as well throw one of these guns in while you are at it. I think what makes it special is that it is only for servicemen and women, otherwise it is just another 1911.
