Best of luck if you are serious about this severus.

But I have to say that, so far, you haven't really shown us Jack Sh%t about any progress with this project. .... but it's been two years and all you have to show for it are ideas.......

1 year 86 days from the date of the first post to the date of this post. Not sure how you get 2 years. I am happy for Armedsask's progress. This is not one part. It takes time. Perhaps all the arm chair experts on the site should attempt to do this, if you can get out of your arm chairs, and then we shall see how your posts may differ.

And why on earth would I spend the time to make parts with low or no demand or custom one offs for people who likely will not pay the full cost of development and manufacturing?

So I am going to leave it at that for now and get on with the project and whether or not I post again before the prototype is assembled is up for debate in my mind. I have received some pretty positive comments but they tend to be drowned out by the naysayers and tall poppy cutters. Frankly, I have more positive things to do.

Good luck with your R & D on that rifle, Severus.

Although as much as I'd like to, I sure couldn't afford to spend up to $3500 for a new rifle. I think many other potential buyers would say the same.

I do realize that the market in Canada ain't nowhere near as big as the US, but frankly, I just don't see you selling enough rifles here in Canada to justify your R & D costs. Are you thinking of exporting to the US and other countries?

There are plenty of people here willing to spend that much for a rifle.

Real life screwing with you positive vibes? taking your toys and going home? Wow you had best grow a pair if you actually want to go through with this project, you have built nothing, have nothing to show and expect a positive response. Had you listened to the advice given over a year ago and STFU until you had a working prototype or model the response would have been better. But NO you had to start spouting about your vaporware, and expect everyone to OOOH and AHH about nothing., then get all butt hurt when things don't go your way... You deserve to fail.

I'd love to see a real Canadian made battle rifle. As some others have mentioned it would also be nice to see a pump, with a proprietary mag style first. Is this within the realm of possibility? Isn't a rotating bolt a rotating bolt or would this be building two completely different rifles? Also I realize others can spend big money on this, but my finances have limits. Lots of limits. I'd wish you luck, but that's for the unprepared, which I don't think you are.

Thank you for this response. I am sure everyone here can appreciate it for what it is.

I never said I could count.:)

You've basically posted nothing. Prove you aren't pouching from your couch. You can't post the stuff you have on a gun forum and expect people not to be skeptical. Posts like these are numerous and almost all result in nothing.

And why on earth would I spend the time to make parts with low or no demand or custom one offs for people who likely will not pay the full cost of development and manufacturing?
There's a market for quality parts here in Canada, Europe and the U.S. Why on earth you'd try to build the Taj Mahal on the first go is IMO unwise at best and downright foolish at worst. Building parts gives you a great feel for the market, access to customers and retailers, and can be done without huge amounts of capital.

Folded like a cheap suit. I still need some low 1' cantilever rings d@mnit!!!

severus I want you to succeed. But you've shown me nothing that would lead me to believe this will happen. Regardless, this has been an entertaining thread.

I hope they do, because for all your whining about how hard done by you are you have yet to produce anything would offer the least bit of interest to:

A Investors

B. Customers

Hell I may as well announce here and now that I am building a competing design, that is non restricted, multi caliber, is compatible with AR15 acessories, and will cost under $1500.00. See I can play the game too.

Again, thank you for this response. I am sure everyone can appreciate it as much as the previous one. You are surely living up to the moniker under your name Reaper. I wish you luck in your endeavour.
