Canadian Modular Assault Rifle

Theyre going to end up spending over 20k per rifle somehow and not even spring for an upgraded bolt release or charging handle lol.
They will be about 10 000$ per rifle system, including the suppressor, the LPVO, the red dot, the mounts, etc.

Magpul BUIS? but no PMAG? WTF? and why the RAL finish? WFT is wrong with our Army?
A 1X6 LPVO AND a RDS AND BUIS? how may sight systems do you need? There doesn't look to be much "real estate" for a light or PEQ?
If that is the SAI 1X6 it has 120 MOA adjustment? on that rifle? What for?

Well, DIA seems to be taking their sweet time for the announcement, but the contract award should be before the end of this month. They are coming!

Sometimes I wonder if all the last NR rifles that are not banned were picked because they either are unreliable or ultra expensive

While the people in question are certainly greasy enough to do such a thing we are fortunate that most of them are too technically inept to pull it off.

No, in this instance it is simply political and whatever hasn't been banned simply means they haven't gotten around to it yet (proved beyond doubt at this point with all the subsequent bans).

Better to do it in little bites as you don't want to rile up too many plebs at once and this approach means you can use these announcements to cover up another scandal or worry the sheep into getting out and voting for you.

Here are the latest renderings of the CMAR-GS (General Service). A 13.7 inches barrel, 1 to 6x LPVO, 5 slots MLOK free-floating barrel handguard, MFMD integral suppressor (ie not user removable), fully ambidextrous.

I gotta ask, why are all these new rifles tan? Whats the idea behind it?
CADPAT MT is brown/FDE based instead of green, based on research and latest advancements in camouflage. https://www.canada.ca/en/army/news-publications/2024/02/cadpat-mt-uniforms.html
"The goal of camouflage is to delay detection by the enemy. The selection of the new Canadian Disruptive Pattern Multi-Terrain (CADPAT (MT)) colour scheme was a data-driven process, as this pattern reduces the likelihood of detection from a greater range of technologies and in the widest range possible of operational environments."
