Canadian Rangers C19

What do you figure the chances are of the Canadian rangers engaging anything but a herd of caribou or the odd bear with a C19?

If it’s an actual enemy invasion I don’t think the colour of their rifles will be what determines survival

The arctic could be chock full of James Bond villain bases and lairs and we'd never know it. I wonder how many bases the Chinese have already constructed up there...

eyes and ears with the ability to survive in wilderness conditions including defending oneself from critters....fighting off hordes of spetznaz and VDV I think not....akin to coast watchers in the pacific war....the formal motto of the rangers is "the watchers"

Was that so foolish a question?

Combat effectiveness aside, I dont think any issue firearm should be red. Do people paint their hunting guns red now? Anything goes nowadays, I suppose.

Although my preference is a firearm in a more subdued color there are people who like firearms in bright colors. Orange seems popular for hunting/predator defense, keeps it from being misplaced I guess

Didn't we the taxpayer, go in excess of $4000 a unit for those? So is there a fix for the poor mags or does the end user just have to put up with the problems?

Ummm....we were told before the release that this kit would run in about $5k per person...that kit ended up being well over $7K. Nice unit, looks good enough to become a future battlefield trophy, shoots quite well but it's kind of heavy. Can't see it being enjoyed on a long hike very much and for that kind of money one would think that there would be NO issues let alone one so important as feeding rounds?! But then again...someone needs to get paid.
