CanAm: What about bringing in some other kinds of ammo?

I just passed on a deal that, among other things, included 150K of BEAUTIFUL NC FNM 303. If any of you guys have rich uncles that want to make more money, have them give me a call. As it is I can only work as fast as my current funding allows.

Thanx for the interest.

Chris

.303 SURPLUS;
Yes there is surplus .303 in the USA, yes we own some off shore, yes we sold a lot into the USA and continue to do so.
The reason, the long and unrealistic approval procedures set up in Ottawa, even for surplus ammo that was made in Canada.
But we can all sleep sound knowing that someone is protecting us from such evil.
HAPPY NEW YEAR John

How can we change the rules, John?
We here at the mighty CGN are quite good at letter writing campaigns, and have managed to fend off some heavy handed legislation in the past, such as new reloading rules that had been proposed.

Is it possible to relax the import procedure a bit?

Who would we contact?

The power of the internet! I love it!

Johnone has mentioned quite a few BS items that the feds have required, including;

1) They won't test any ammo with mercuric priming
2) They want bilingual packaging. Great if you sell only by the crate, but what if your dealer buyer chooses to sell by the box?

Definitely understandable that you need the capital to buy such a large amount before you can even think of selling it. What would the turnaround be on something like this though? If it's reasonable I'm sure you'd be able to get quite a few pre-orders off of CGN, considering the scarcity of cheap 303 in Canada. If there's enough interest it may be able to cover the original cost, or at least a significant portion. Just a thought :)

The deal included 303, it was not available seperatly. It incuded 303, 12G buck, 5.56 and 308.

Gotcha. The 12g might be harder to dispose of for a profit but I don't think you'd find a problem with the 5.56 or 308. Of course you're the one that ran the numbers and know more than I do, I just did some quick mental math ;)
