Chilliwack 'dart and tackle' has AE-55 Gr FMC for 235.00 + - ( plus tax) for 25 boxes -500 rounds (Brick)
Ouch. Two years ago I bought cases (1000) of Rem-UMC 55gr. for $275 total.

...there is a massive worldwide shortage of .223 ammo occuring right now....the last case I saw at a U.S. gunshow last month was $349 (usd)...rumor has it that the United Nations has also been trying to buy it up just to destroy it ....

Destroying it they ain't. Trying to get control of the arms industry they are. Mind you, there's never any reports about the aforementioned dictators destroying their own stocks of ammo and small arms. The current festivites in Burma/Myanmar being the classic example.

How times do change, spring 2006 I paid $270 + tax for 1000 Win, 55 FMJ. Would have bought that much again had I known.

Del Selin Gunsmith in Vernon sells them for $8.95/box which would be $223.75 for 25 boxes. I've never asked about a quantity discount. The brass is headstamped "LC" (Lake City) and appears to be milspec.

Speaking of which, is anyone selling the SA battlepacks anymore? Either 7.62x51 or 5.56?
It is no longer allowed out of ZA as ammo, they scrapped it all.
Anybody like the UMC from Bass Pro?? Usually they Never have any.
I went to Bass Pro today to return some crappy shirts. I took a look and they had one box of 20 in the glass case. Wow....
I looked behind me expecting to see the bulk cage empty..to my surprise....
It Wasn't.
Anyway...I couldn't resist. With the prices they way they are...(and I heard another increase coming)
There was still 12 cases sitting there waiting for a home.....drive fast...LOL
