Nothing. Have yet to be in a scenario where I need to carry so wouldn't carry around several pounds of metal/plastic just for the fun of it.
There had been several times when I wish I had a machete but can't dream of carry one around for the other 99.999999% of the time.

Now if I was a gang banger a G17 with at least a 17 rnd mag for the drive by shooting opportunities (ie. target happens to be home when I drive by.)
For penetration through car doors a 44 Mag.
For execution/to make a stmt a 357 Mag (the rock on F&F)

So you'd only carry after something happens to you or someone around you?
Ill go out on a limb and say I would imagine even in the states most CCW holders only ever need their firearm once, often never...and certainly not on a regular basis unless you're Zimmerman.
Carrying is not 'for fun'.

If it wasnt law...would you only wear your seatbelt after you've experienced an accident?
What about that first aid kit in the trunk...there before or after an accident?
What about door locks....do you lock your doors regularly? Is it because b&e's are common at your place or is it...... a preventative measure for that one time it COULD happen.
