How exactly is this set up, people roving around pastures firing in all directions? or actually some safety in mind, firing in one direction because I'm sure we all know "someone" that has to be told to watch the hell out where your pointing that thing!
Haven't heard of any mishaps but can see it coming with a bunch of strangers converging on a pasture to light up some critters, keep safe everyone.

Dig a foxhole...

Seriously, safety is the first priority.

We will have to break up into smaller groups, and make darn sure everyone pays attention to where it is safe to shoot and where it isnt!!

Last year for the most part we kept fairly close together, so there wasnt much risk of friendly fire :)

well, Andrewe was in the store tonight, and we chatted for a few minutes about last years hunt, and what i should expect this time out. i'm getting stoked!

How come Kevin is the only guy in WSS that gets to wear a ninja sword?

These darn gopher shoots really mess with my arsenal. In the last couple of weeks I've sold off almost half our guns and bought a few new ones. So far we'll be bringing
CZ 527 .204 Ruger
Tikka T3 .223
CZ 452 .22LR
Ruger 10/22
Savage .17HMR
and the Mossberg shottie.

So now I'll be reloading like mad in between trips to the range in the next few weeks.

Last year I proposed that we have a mini swap meet at the shoot and no-one showed much interest. I'll mention it again this year. I'll be bringing a few things to trade or sell. I know I have many boxes of unused or partially used ammo someone might need, a bipod, and maybe a few other things.

I am un-decided on what all I am going to bring, gun wise.
I don't think I will have much time between now and then to load up any centerfire, but if I do I will bring my 7mm08 heavy barrel, and my 22-250.

I will definatly bring my 10/22, and my .22 mag.
I may bring my old Squires Bingham. Don't laugh! Its the one that shoot and functions well!

I am not bringing a shot gun, just don't want to.

It's really too bad pistols are out of the question for this kind of thing... That would be a blast! (pun fully intended!)

As far as trading or selling I have a few rings and bases I will throw in... Other than that, every thing is for sale for the right price ;)

I am bringing my HMR & 10/22 for sure... if I get lucky I might have a new .223 to try out...

I might also bring an old Cooey Pump (it don't look like much, but my wife's Great Uncle built it, so it should be shot)

I would love to bring my old .22 Win Auto, but it is impossible to find ammo for it.

If I find time to load some more rounds up I might bring the 6mm.

as for a shotgun.. don't know yet.. I have like 8 of them, so it makes it difficult. Might just bring the 28ga for fun.

I think I've got my list settled. These are the toys riding along.

Okay...
I MIGHT bring a shotgun...

Just not sure if I should bring the old 1100, or the mossberg pump...
I do have an old single shot .410 that hasn't seen any use in years. That one could be fun.

47 days left.

I'm Kevin 303's driver and we'll see you there with a new 22 and the SL8.Anyone up for several rings of homemade brautwurst.

Sounds good!

I have one package of cheese smokies, and maybe 2 packages of sausage left from last year's mule deer. I have been saving them for this trip.

I am definately planning on making some more jerky for that weekend. Just have to wait till it's a little closer, or it will be gone too.

bump to top

is anyone heading down earlier than the 6th?

Reason being i have an obligation in Edmonton on the 7th in the evening...so i would need to leave early sunday morning to get back in time

i would come down for the 5th and 6th if possible
