Actors, as a rule, are broken people who don't just do it for the money, they do it because they need to spend as much of their life being "someone else" as they can because they aren't comfortable with the person they are.
The bigger d-bags are the hero worshipping weenies who think that famous actors have a functioning brain that makes their opinions valid.
I agree.
So did anyone see the movie or have an opinion on the SKS that was used?
Good movie, great practical FX and stunts, I had fun. Been waiting for a sequel to Road Warrior for 30 years (Thunderdome doesn't count), and I thought it delivered.
I was certain that she wasn't popping off long range targets with a scoped SKS, but I guess she was:
Long range shot at a fast moving target (dude on a motorbike), at night, with blowing sand to obscure the sight picture. Of course she one shot drilled it, because, you know, movies...
When I was watching that scene in the theatre, I cringed as she lined up the shot and almost covered my ears in empathy for the shattered eardrum that would have occurred IRL if someone did that. Of course, in the movie, Mad Max's ears rang for about a half second before he shook it off and got his game back on.
A mere mortal would have been on the ground, probably unconscious, with blood seeping out of their ear from a shattered eardrum, and quite possibly semi blind from burst blood vessels in the eyes and a detached cornea - no, he didn't even close his eyes when she took the shot.
Meh. Movies. Whaddya gonna do. It was good popcorn fair and a decent excuse to get out and hang out with some friends for the evening.
