Charlize Theron's SKS in "Mad Max, Fury Road"

Evil SKS in Mad Max = next gun on the leftards' prohibition list!

(because popular action movies and comic books is where the Lieberals, NDP and Coalition for Gun Control get their "firearm expert status" and "research data" from!)

gunshot so close to the guy's ear? one more reason to skip this movie. The first two are: Mel Gibson is not in it, the lady is "anti gun" big time.

anti-gun is too much, but mel gibson being an alcoholic racist is completely fine? some of you guys have seriously ####ed up priorities.

Why does Hollywood keep exhuming old films? Where is the creativity and new ideas?

because it appeals to everyone. alot of people under the age of 20 have never seen the original mad max films, but have likely heard of them, and anyone who saw and liked the originals are likely to go see this new one.

I do pass on 95% of movies and 99% of TV shows.

Liam Neeson is on my don't watch because of anti gun hypocrisy list as well.

Yup! Same here. Don't watch anything near the amount of TV or movies I use to. Getting real tired of the typical hypocrisy that is Hollywood these days.

Make your living shooting all kinds of guns and depicting the killing of others on screen but God forbid that I take my gun to the range to shoot a piece of paper! I'm a dangerous lunatic that is the wrong influence and a danger to society for doing so.

Their use of guns and portrayal of violence is all puppies and kittens and everything nice! Right!

I don't care what an entertainer thinks or their political views. I either like their work or not.

The day I go to an entertainer to seek political advice is the day I go to my mechanic for medical advice.

Actors, as a rule, are broken people who don't just do it for the money, they do it because they need to spend as much of their life being "someone else" as they can because they aren't comfortable with the person they are.

The bigger d-bags are the hero worshipping weenies who think that famous actors have a functioning brain that makes their opinions valid.

Good movie, great practical FX and stunts, I had fun. Been waiting for a sequel to Road Warrior for 30 years (Thunderdome doesn't count), and I thought it delivered.

Long range shot at a fast moving target (dude on a motorbike), at night, with blowing sand to obscure the sight picture. Of course she one shot drilled it, because, you know, movies...

When I was watching that scene in the theatre, I cringed as she lined up the shot and almost covered my ears in empathy for the shattered eardrum that would have occurred IRL if someone did that. Of course, in the movie, Mad Max's ears rang for about a half second before he shook it off and got his game back on.

A mere mortal would have been on the ground, probably unconscious, with blood seeping out of their ear from a shattered eardrum, and quite possibly semi blind from burst blood vessels in the eyes and a detached cornea - no, he didn't even close his eyes when she took the shot.

Meh. Movies. Whaddya gonna do. It was good popcorn fair and a decent excuse to get out and hang out with some friends for the evening.

For an antigun actress, I will give her and her director some props. Her position in this pic is actually quite good. Stock set up for open sights and a scope a mile in the sky. She may not like guns but at least they got her set up in a proper manner and likely is actually looking through the scope.

It is acting after all....

Did she dial the scope the "right" way?

As for the buddy bipod, go to a tactical match. This IS done and yes, that muzzle is near the "bipods" head. I have never had the pleasure but it is a common team stage so...

Jerry

This thread started out so nice...

Who gives a crap what some actors personal feelings are on the subject matter? They are being PAID to use the PROPS in a MOVIE.

Calling someone a hypocrite for doing their job? LOL

That's like calling a vegetarian a hypocrite for handling meat if they work in a restaurant.

Dunno... saw a video recently of some guys in Aussie using SKS-D, said would cost him $300 to replace. I assume he meant Aussie dollars. So I just looked that up, is $290 Canadian. Seems a lot if you are talking a Russian sks. But these were SKS-D, which seem to be selling for $500+ in Canada. One on the EE was being offered for $800... seems way too high to me but if someone buys, more power to the seller.

Considering semi-auto centerfires are just about banned, probably more than $300. Maybe you're thinking of the kiwis?
"Category D: Self-loading centrefire rifles, pump-action or self-loading shotguns holding more than 5 rounds. Functional Category D firearms are restricted to government agencies and a few occupational shooters. Collectors may own deactivated Category D firearms."

Norc SKS, $1750

This appears is be an SKS-d, $995

More to life than just guns...man some of the people here.

So the 2 stars in this movie are Charlize Theron (an anti) and Tom Hardy (who I think is into guns). What to do????

lots of pro gun celebrities as well

brad pitt
his better half angelina jolie
johnny depp
etc.

it goes both ways

Well said. Another point to make to all you boycotters (aside from the fact you are missing out on an insanely good all-out old school action flick....)

From what I've read, Tom Hardy (Mad Max) is also a pro-gun shooter...when in the Czech Republic, he visited the CZ factory in his spare time and tried out some guns. According to the article the SP-01 Shadow was his favorite. Pretty decent for a Brit when you consider all of the hypocrites on the antis list.

Also came across pic of him with a firearms trainer:

Makes sense to these guys. I bet they are the hypocrites as the anti-list for actors is long as hell, willing to bet they've been watching anti's in movies and tv their whole lives. Just make sure to sh!t on a movie to look cool.

IT'S A MOVIE - IT'S NOT REAL!!! Understand now?

because it makes a ton of money for the producer who is too lazy and uninspired to come up with an original and new idea. alot of people under the age of 20 have never seen the original mad max films, but have likely heard of them, and anyone who saw and liked the originals will know that this film is just a big cash grab.

Fixed it for ya bud.
