Cheapest sks & surplus ammo

Don't think the price has changed that much but the quality is going down. Bought my first 3 years ago for $190. Original un-issued all matching, hardwood stock, pretty good condition. Bought another one a few months ago $190, decent condition laminate stock but a refurb so not fully matching. Don't see any un-issued versions these days.

my wholesale price thismorning for grade 2 sks is 230$ so speculate all you want its here now buy up the old stock
My LGS grade 2 ( birch stock refurb) was $200 but he got a deal $180 for buying 50 or more! Edit, that was for a new order not here yet! I am hoping to dig through them for a gem or two, but as others have said, they are harder to come by!
Has anyone noticed that there are a lot more early Year sks coming in, I was looking for some letter series ( 56,57,58) but difficult to find any in good shape!

It looks like the better SKSs have been picked over , and are gone . Checked three Canadian Tires , and our local gun store . All they have are the BBQ paint specials . The SKSs with badly beat up stocks have been fitted with Tapco stocks . The LGS said he can no longer get the good blued SKSs any more .

$209 *READ DESCRIPTION BEFORE ORDERING* https://www.gotenda.com/shop/firear...-56-semi-auto-7-62x39-military-surplus-rifle/

Original Chinese 56 SKS rifles, military surplus specification with chrome lined bore, barrel threaded into the receiver, milled parts, and folding Spike bayonet. These early rifles were used and show wear from active military service, with little metal bluing finish, and rough wood stocks. Do not expect a cleaning rod. Overall Fair to Good condition, functioning shootable rifles, heavily preserved in cosmoline.

Serial numbers do not usually match. Most marked with factory 26 in a triangle.

Very limited supply.

Comes with:

1* User manual

1* Original surplus oil bottle

......already placed my order, going down to Toronto anyways so I will be fortunate enough to hand pick through these

$20 shipping.....FREE SHIPPING OVER $600

Bought a 1500 rd crate from CT in Brandon last wknd, along with a few other, non-firearms items. Noticed (after I got home, of course...) that they didn't apply any ct money to the ammo purchase, just the non-firearms items. Didn't bother calling them about it...
Is this an individual store thing, or country wide?

Paid cash, $329 for the ammo itself. Corrosive. A bit more than I care to pay, but they are the closest source...

i get CTM in Brandon on all my ammo purchases, maybe talk to customer service and see if they can manually add it.

Looks like tenda only has the chinese sks in stock, the russians are sold out. Picked up a what appears to be unrefurbished 1952 indecent condition russian last week

Just because an SKS can be bought cheap does not mean that it is a nice SKS . I have seen some BBQ paint junk out there in the last six months that I would not take home for any price .Hopefully folks are checking these rifles over before purchase , and are just not getting caught up in the hype .
I bought a Super grade, unissued, blued, and nicely pinned for 170 with a 50 dollar promo card [219 total]at a can tire store on Van Island. They are out there with a little searching. They would only show me three and the other two were not nice. The display gun was bled, matching and unissued[I wouldn't let it go, once I got it handed to me] ,but the ones out back they handed me were BBQed, mismatched, parts guns.I think the last of the nice ones need to snapped up when they are found. We see these previous cheap finds in the EE for double the money.

May 11,2017 still on the lookout

Give yourself and your wallet a break and look locally. Anything you have to ship is going to cost and extra $30-$50 plus taxes on top of the purchase price with taxes. Often you can get a local shop to give you a 10% discount on a package for cash. If it has to go on a CC, get a cash advance from the bank and go with that in hand. Use your phone to call the shops locally available and find out the exact amount needed ahead of going to pick it up. To easy.
