The fashionable gentleman of the day, should have one of each.
Grizz
I have two Russians and one Chinese. The Russians are definitely the "prettier" guns, but if I had to pick one to keep I honestly think I'd take the Chinese. Maybe it's just because I got it brand new unissued, but the thing is just rock solid with a really nice feeling action and shoots great. It's my go-to SKS. Love the Russians though, they have very purty stocks..
I stripped and sanded my Chinese SKS's stock, followed with oil stain and tung oil finish and it's as purty as can be! Solid constuction and shoots like a dream. My biased vote goes to Chinese![]()
I recently read this as well! Surprising, I looked, & I see a 1! Yeaah! I picked up my Russian, NO Refurb marks what-so-ever, no ### in stock All #'s matching, Looks new,unissued-at Orangeville Gun SHow for $200! ..(with all goodies & 20rounds Surplus) I also had a Chinese one 10 years ago & never had any problems with it. Looking for a Chinese one as well, since I dont want to bubba the Russian,I found the opposite with the Chinese and Russian ones, although when buying the Russian ones you can check on the front sight what the accuracy rating is on the gun, they are stamped with a 1, 2, or 3, 1 obviously being the most accurate.
