Chinese Type 81, heard they are coming to Canada

What "family" of rifles? Just because they have external features that look the same doesn't mean they are of the same design lineage. The ca line isn't banned, two shipments got denied over features that were of either full auto, or converted auto concerns. That is the only reason under the law the shipments could be denied, as far as specs are concerned.

I know they aren't banned, but Wolverine said they aren't importing any more, so it is as good as gone. My question is, will someone attempt to re-import these, it would be a damn shame to not ever have any new ones entering the country.

Correct, wolverine doesn't want to take the chance. Any other importer could, but that is a business decision. CSA is still coming in with theirs. And there are thousands of vz types already here on the used market.

Wolverine is working on brining in cz 958 they say its a delux cz 858 so who know what that means but sounds promising.

if the full auto version is already listed as a kalashnikov my hopes just went down a lot!!

Yes it is. But the legal status remarks for an AK variant and a Type 81 are listed as being under different sections of the Firearms Act. If they considered it an AK variant it would have remarks saying it was a variant of the OIC list. It doesn't, so that is a positive.

Can anyone tell me why the cz 858 that are still out there for sale which I only found 4 are still for sale since these are hot sellers. I would assume they would be gone by now.

nope too expensive for something mass produced by the most populous country on earth especially not known for their quality and pieced together from old used parts.
Maybe if it was 300 bucks...

I would think that these might be pretty decent if the are build to military specs The chinese stuck to them over the AK even though they cost twise as much to make so it can't be that bad. I'd expect something on par with the vz58 price and performence wise.
