Hey ######,

Unfortunately, since this is an open port compensator, the ATF will not let us ship it back to you. The only thing we can do is get in contact with Questar to give you a refund or a replacement, as the part was not bought from us directly.

Don't get me wrong -- I'm not going to bother complaining about it but I'm sure as s**t not going to buy another one.

I think this just made me change my mind about ordering one. Poor customer service and quality control. I don't care if it doesn't hinder the trajectory or whatever, I would want it fixed. If you go buy a piece of furniture and it's got a chip out of it after they deliver it, you get a discount or have it replaced. How is that any different. Damaged goods is still damaged goods. After that, are you supposed to feel safe, if chunks start flying of your rifle. Hmmmm? Don't think so. Will they have a new excuse for that? "Oh, don't worry Mr. Customer. When your rifle blew up, you only lost half of your face, not all of it."

Let's not forget we pay alot of money for this stuff. Surely they can fix the problem for what we pay them.

Side note: Questar is awsome. I love those guys. My main problem is intended for PWS as a manufacturer.

CONCLUSION:
All has been finalized as PWS will send my warranty replacemt to Questar who will forward it to me.
I just want to add PWS and Questar were very helpful. A big thumbs up for Customer Service to both of them and hopefully the new batch will not have this problem.
So far my PWS TTO is working great...

Just got my Triad in yesterday, haven't mounted it. This is what it looks like:

So it's pretty obvious why it's chipping. Debating getting it replaced. On one hand it's brand new so it shouldn't look like this, but if it doesn't affect anything I'm not sure I want to go through the hassle of replacing it.

just checked, I have the same chip. I'm around 300-400 rounds. I love this thing, but after reading clobbs post, looks like I'm in the market for similar, but different device... suggestions?

How about THIS?

Canadian made and VERY effective, without the chipping issue.:D

Video proof of performance should be done in the next couple of days.

No, what gun uses that thread and pitch?

We do make 1 for 300 Blackout that has 5/8x24 TPI and obviously a larger exit hole.

I have a Tikka T3 tactical. The M18x1 thread pitch is I 'spose the metric equivalent to 5/8x24, most of the .30 cal european rifles (SAKO TRG22/42) use the 18x1mm.

Just figured I'd ask, the Sako muzzle brake is heinously loud and the recoil for .308 isn't bad enough to warrant one, but a nice flash suppressor would look great on the end.

How about something like that as a direct connect flash hider for Norc. m14s threads, sort of along the lines of the SEI Vortex? Hmmm, might be straying off topic, sorry.

I also have a triad waiting to be tested. It looks fine now, but if it starts chipping, it's done!

I could see big demand for a direct connect threaded falshhider like this for Norinco m14's in Canada.:D

These devices are flash hiders that are purpose designed for short barrelled guns to eliminate or reduce the muzzle flash. None of these devices will serve any purpose on a long barrelled bolt rifle.
There is no flash to speak of from a 20 inch long barrel, unless you are loading your ammo with cordite.

you're correct, I have heard that things like the smith enterprises vortex can reduce drag on the bullets etc... (like a suppressor) and kinda help accuracy, but mostly it's to finish it off. Next time I go out I'm gonna try the brake again and see if I'm still a panzy with the noise :p

ETA

Spotting my own shots with the brake would be really nice to do!

Brakes by nature are just plain stinkin noisy, no way around it.
Spotting 1s own shots however Priceless:)
