Civilian semi-auto Heckler & Koch G36 and future models

If they come up for sale in US, I would simply purchase one and have it imported, easy way to bypass the Nicholls nightmare.

IF they had the C model I'd buy one. Otherwise too long for my tastes.

The LAST g36K I saw for sale... was 9,800$ and all I got to do is hold it at Wolverine Supplies.... that was 2 years ago. I haven't seen any go for sale lately, but they're out there.

CanAm, If Norinco makes a G36K copy with an 18.5 inch light contour barrel and a faux suppressor/barrel shroud I will be the first person to sign up for a preorder. Although if HK USA introduces at shot show 2014 and has them available by next summer priced similarly to US Tavors I would jump on that too and get a custom barrel.

Honestly now that I have shot one I dont see what the fuss is all about. it isnt that ergonomic, it recoils a tad bit more than an ar or scar, cool looking gun, and the folder stock is a plus, but the length of pull is not adjustable. and the rail offset with the cheekpiece is a bit much.

I shot the C model in Las Vegas and thought it was a fantastic little firearm. I would love to have a K or E in 18.5". Also they have a V stock available that is collapsible and has the folding stock.

The more the merrier.

I've never used one, however they don't seem to be all that impressive from what I've heard, especially for what H&K will probably charge for them.

For price I would assume that the cost would be similar (although probably a 2-300 dollars more) to the SL8 as the rifle will not require any crazy modifications....

As for the SL8 being discontinued - I thought that it was designed to get around laws in some European countries that prohibit sales of firearms too close to military issue .. at least that's what I recall.

Unless those laws change, they would need a European model to sell, no?

Their patent just ran out. They should expect others around the world to start making them soon.

Anyone know of a S/A G36 for sale?

Rumor has it Norinco have set up a whole factory filled with industrial grade 3D printers for these HK rifles.

Oh… common now… I am sure China would use a much cheaper production method.
Nope, nothing but the best at Norinco, their 3D printers uses colour polymers, it also comes with variety of extrusion nozzles for those highly intricate details.

Ok here is the thing about HK. If they sell a rifle to the military they can't sell it to civilans due to German laws against it. The G36 have a factory in Dubi so you can order rifles from them if you really want to because they don't have to follow the German law that says they can't be sold. That's why HK has a very anti gun type of atuitude because the laws in Germany are crap.

Thats the one I shot, I wasn't that impressed, mine had an eotech on it, i am wondering if we shot the exact same guns. I shot it alongside a scar, ak74, and an aug. and the cheekpiece was the least ergonomic of the lot, and it recoiled more than the scar, and aug in fa, but that wouldnt be a big deal for the civilian model. Not hating on it, but I dont see what is so mythical about it, but I guess if they make a nr variant at a sub swiss rifle price I could see why people would want one.
