Client loaner rifles

No dream, just need the cash:

Walnut has its struggles much as I'm horribly in love with it. My stocks come home swollen and textured each trip. Well except the last one Hoyt's weather luck is absurd and I carried a Mossberg.

I would give lefty to get that rifle off of him....... he politely told me to pass the word down through the family that my great grandchildren won't have a hope in hell.....

I've seen that Searcy SS, there are two of them, could of course be more he's still at it. Still can't believe the customer wanted ports on a .470 and that Butch obliged, .470s really aren't bad and just ruins the lines for me. Otherwise I love the stainless / walnut look.
Looks like the ports were placed so they could be cut off w/o moving the front sight and still work fine.

Those ports are ridiculous...

Not a pro but have a few Thompson products kicking around. They are accurate, dependable and light... The T/C Venture Weather Shield should stand up to your harsh climate requirements. Worth a look anyway......

I think ports and brakes are ridiculous either way........ and that has less to do with machismo and more to do with available cartridges and appropriate ranges........

For me it is the platform... ports on a nice SXS double rifle, make no sense to me what-so-ever... they turn a beautiful piece into something laughable...

Ardent I'm somewhat curious to know how a laminate stocked SKS would fair in your enviro.

EDIT: when I say enviro, I don't mean the hunting application, I just mean the salt water misty air and the moist west coast in general. Obviously it is not suited for grizzly or goats, because the 7.62x39 is pretty much the functional opposite of the 7mm magnum, at least in the centerfire realm. Sorry for the confusion.
