Club Closures due to Covid-19

Waterford is closed.

"With the increase in cases of COVID-19 in Ontario, and following provincial and federal guidelines for social gatherings, it has been decided that the WSC will be closed for a period of 2 weeks effective today Tuesday March 17th at 5pm until April 5, 2020 to protect the health and safety of its members.
This includes all meetings, open house, and special events.

Please check the WSC website for updates."

In some cases provincial or municipal authorities have shut down social gatherings , in some cases, usually outdoor ranges, the clubs are making the decision. This has nothing to do wit the CFOs.

Sorry but HAHA is not closed. Received an email from the prez which states among other things; ABSOLUTELY no visitors on the property, all common areas closed, trap/skeet range closed, outdoor ranges open but leave a shooting position open between shooters, washrooms open.
 
Grenville Fish and Game Club outdoor range is still open in Prescott, ON but I'm not sure if the sunday morning skeet shooting is going ahead this weekend.

The executive is asking members to stay away if there are unwell but we can still practice social distancing with 4 ranges to choose from.

it's interesting that we have both been told something different, although i heard it from Rick Lawry, so I should have considered it BS simply based on it coming from him.
 
The Canadian Historical Arms Society Range at Gennessee, AB is an outdoor facility with concrete pads and cover on 3 sides plus a roof over the firing line. The Range is currently open, but that is subject to change at any time. Anyone heading out there from Edmonton is well-advised to check the website before committing to the drive. I was out there today at -10 and it was surprisingly busy. Managed to get 6 rifles re-zeroed after an optics shuffle, plus test-fired 25 Challenger Low Recoil Slugs through the Turknelli with zero failures or other "drama". All in all, a good day!
 
My indoor range is open - members only - but I'm going to avoid that.

My Sporting Clays club is open - members only. There is a shoot today that I very much wanted to attend. An important charity shoot. I have decided not to attend, not so much because I fear exposure, but because it feels like modelling good choices. Another upcoming shoot that I was looking forward to like Christmas - but I'll pass on that too.

I am going to continue shooting Sporting Clays solo. Can't imagine a safer way of getting out of the house. Only risk is the button and that is easily managed.

The ON CFO is not mandating closures. They have stated that it is not part of their mandate. In ON, the provincial government orders are the ones that would apply. Most shooting range activities are not covered by these orders. The gathering of 50 or more people prohibition would apply, but that would only affect matches.
At one club where I am a member, we have been reminded that wiping the gate lock, clubhouse doorknob, desk surface at the sign-in book, etc., should be practiced. If other shooters are present, maintain the 2m separation. Otherwise, the ranges (all outdoor) are available for use.
 
GRGC (Guelph) indoor ranges are closed. Outdoor ranges keep one shooting station free between active shooters.
Clay shooting is closed.
 
in south western ontario and shot sporting clay at Twin Creeks Sunday ,, pass your money in the window into a pail, keep your distance , some wearing latex gloves , Great shoot ,,nice course, Thanks to Twin creeks for trying to keep open. They shoot Friday morning and Sunday.
