Colt Canada rifles to the public?

Yes... But they sell them in a large quantity. A military or police force doesn't just buy one or two rifles. They buy thousands at a time. That's how manufacturing works. The more you buy the cheaper the individual item will be. Government customers buy factory direct from Colt Canada. There is no middle man. Commercial items have to go through a distributer first, then to retailers. You also have to account for the cost of shipping from distributer to retailer. Do the math.

These rifles are top of the line, what did you expect?

Pricing similar to the CGCM cost.

Before you say... "But that's because the CF bought them in bulk"... understand that the CF pays more for run of the mill everything.

I have held several accounts full of millions of dollars of kit and seen the price per unit of all of it. A lot of COTS kit was at or more than MSRP.

I know the difference between an American Colt and a CC colt in all regards as I have been to CC and seen it for myself.

They are at best a $1600 and $1800 product.

I'd pay a bit more for a made in Canada and associated roll mark, so IMHO these are about $2-300 over priced. In other words: I'd pay a BIT more than a DD for one. At this price, I'll keep shopping.

If they were at that price range I would buy one right now.

But $2100? The C7 is a great rifle but not $2100 great.

2300 for a bare bones C8A3? Why don't I just buy one of those BCM uppers for a smalll fraction of the cost?

You can even go one step further and get one with a barrel profile that makes sense. 9lbs carbines are silly.

Exactly what I did. Got the BCM C8 SFW upper and it is excellent. Very high quality.

I find it funny that if one posted a C7 for sale on this forum 5 or 10 years ago (aside from the legal aspect), they could have asked $10 k easy. Now that they are available people are b!tching about a $500 premium. Lol. f:P:

You sir hit the nail on the head. I can't believe there is so much butt hurt over this.

IMHO too much money for what you get. You're paying for the Colt CANADA name, that's all.

If the rifles were priced somewhere around what a similar rifle from Colt USA costs through an importer (Irunguns, Prophet River, etc), I'd go for it, but just having the CANADA name on the lower isn't worth the extra bucks to me.

What happend to all those people who want to pay more to support Canadian manufacturers lmao

Yes the US Colts are cheaper but they don't have the Colt Canada barrels with are the best in the business.

Do I think they are over priced.. yes. But, I expected them to be more actually.

I can't wait to get mine.

My advice to all of you in Canada is to buy one of these Colt Canada offerings as soon as they become available - Diemaco/Colt Canada rifles and carbines have an excellent reputation and are widely used by allied SOF ; as a matter of fact when you run into an AR or M4 style rifle in Europe the overwhelming majority of the time it's a Diemaco

These things would sell like hotcakes here in the US if they were every imported ( highly unlikely )- I would get over the price and get one ASAP - don't take a good situation for granted

"Willing to pay more to support Canadian" is one thing. In this case we are being taken advantage of. This is unacceptable to me. That being said, I honestly hope you enjoy your rifle.
