cpt. canuck said:It sure as hell is relevant! As mention before if it says for 1 in 9 barrels and it was fired in anything else other than a 1 in 9 barrel than Winchester will win in court if it goes that far.
Anttiman said:AFAIK different twist rates doesn´t cause kaBooms. I don´t see the statement in question as warning. Knowing how carefully US companies are warning their customers from misusing their products I am sure Winchester would use words "Warning! - Do NOT use..." if there would be danger shooting the ammunition from barrels with faster twist rate than 1/9". I have never heard that twist rate would have any effect on chamber pressure. If you know better please provide me a link to the information. I am always interested in learning new things.
Beater said:well, i just put another pic up , back a few. there isnt anything written on the box at all. i think we are getting confused hear, with roberts statements about HIS box of ammo.
he is talking about totaly diff ammo than what i have hear.
his is a 40 pack, saying its for 1-9 twist
mine is a 50 pack, with nothing at all writen about anything as far as rifle twist is concerned. robert posted a pic of HIS box of ammo, not mine.
and the independent lab has allready beent hought of, pritty sure thtas will be the root to go. KOLDIT is right, if i was to send it to WW or colt, id never see it again, im sure
BTW i went through the box of emptied from the range. found 25 of the 30 i think. none of them show anything bad. ill post some pics of them tonight.

Well the 1-9 twist is recommendation is for accuracy and is not a warning that use in twists faster than 1-9" will result in the destruction of your rifle.cpt. canuck said:It sure as hell is relevant! it must not be the same ammo, as your box says its going to give you 3600 fps.
mine only gave 3300 over the crony. different batch, different box, different amount, different warning, different everything. i may be loaded with the same bullets, and the same brass. thats where the similarity ends however i would think. not tryin to be a jerk, but i just think thats not right to say its the "same ammo"
here are some pics of the brass.

beltfed said:If that stuff clocked at 3300 fps, it probably isn't the same ammo I have fired. The stuff I've shot (45gr.) never clocked over 3000 fps. As a comparison, the Ruag GP90 averages at 3050 fps and Israeli Surplus goes around 3100 fps
Out of that whole lot of brass only one seems to show any signs of pressure, and that one flattened primer looks pretty tame to me. Certainly nothing that speaks of impending doom.
Incidently, how did the 45 grain stuff shoot, accuracy wise? (asside from the kb of course)
I wish you luck with getting compensation out of Winchester for this, and would like to hear updates on how this unfolds for you.![]()
