Colt M4??

When you see the manual it's like AR, 99% sure it's restricted, I can't understand why GS5 is prohibed and Colt M4 no restricted.

Sadly, to understand there must be reason. Since reason, for the most part, is derived from rationality... you can only understand something if it has rationality. RCMP would need a valid logical argument, this is not the case. The only understanding is that you just have to accept there is little or no logic in the class system for firearms.

I received an email from a guy at Umarex USA and he said the dealers should be getting them in the "next several weeks". As far as Canada, who knows.

From what guy at Umarex USA? I just talked to them and was told they are not dealing with Canada at all. Germany is distributing to Canada, not Umarex USA.

"As far as Canada, who knows."

That pretty much summed it up. ;)

LOL. My bad. I guess I misread the context, assuming the "as far as canada" comment was that they were dealing with CAN, but they couldn't comment as to arrivals. Since their head of marketing just told me it was not their domain.

Canadian distributors are more apt to deal with non-U.S. suppliers due to BATF exportation paperwork and costs. That's why if this product makes it into Canada it will be coming from Germany.

It's not Canada that is the problem for exportation in this example it's the U.S. It will be up to federal agencies in Canada to decide whether or not they intend to follow the law or make it up as they go.

Now I'm going to throw a curve ball here and put the Sig 522 Rifle in the mix, I personally like the look of this rifle, and from what I'm hearing its a step closer to getting through the rcmp. Any thoughts?

Between a non-restricted AR look-alike and that 522, I'll take the former every single time :D

On the Sig forums I think I read something to the effect that it will be available some time in the fall. They are probably making too much money selling the 556 version with Obama as Pres.

Has anyone heard anything about this one?
The stats for it say 16" barrel. Does that make it Restricted even for a rimfire?

RB

No Body really know what it will be registered as??? But there is s Shat load of conversion on it if you want to read up. Just start on page one of this thread
