Any 22 calibre rimfire variant

Why are we under the impression that is going to be non-restricted? I am praying that it will be as mentioned by some, but I highly doubt it.

Wishful thinking. The ever present hope from gun owners the government will for once do us right.

That's why I have my R22. No sense buying a restricted .22 rifle at all if they pan out that way. The R22 is already non-restricted. (until someone changes their mind)

The Armi Jager AP74 is a 22 that just happens to look like a AR15. This is already a precedent so I would go on the assumption that it is going to be restricted unless an act of god makes them change their minds.

There is a Squires Bingham "copy" (if you could even call it a copy ) that is non-restricted. Only bears a passing resemblance to an AR15.

They are now shipping in the States.

Item Number: GM4

Price: $538.78

Number Available: 146

That is from R&R Arms.

It doesn't look like they are shipping all models at this time.

What makes you think they will issue an FRT# for this firearm? It looks scary and it's cheap, that's enough reason for them to T97 it and effectively prohib it with no appeal by simply refusing to classify it.

The owner's manual says the bolt catch lever doesn't function. Neither does the forward assist.

Not cool at all

I assume that because you own a great number of restricted and non-restricted firearms that this doesn't concern you in the least.

fixed it

That's a nice welcome to the forum. Thanks for putting me in my place guys. I can't be the only person who would like the bolt catch and forward assist to actually function. I just thought I'd share this info and maybe save somebody some disappointment. I think it would suck to get your brand new .22 "tactical" rimfire, and be like WTF? These really don't do anything?

Sorry if I offended anyone by saying not cool. I 've already put my money down on an M4 Ops, and I can't wait to shoot it.

I've had a few .22s that were picky, and I thought the forward assist might be useful.

You guys never use the bolt catch on your ARs?
Wouldn't it be nice to have it on this?

I think that's one of the fun things about shooting an AR, and I'd like to be able to use it on this rifle. I know I'm not going to be the only one disappointed. Who doesn't like the "slap the side" bolt release?
I don't like the need to insert an empty mag to lock the bolt back either. I am happy the last round hold open is there, though.

I know it's not a real AR, and I'm glad. I sold my AR because I couldn't take it in the bush. I have other gas guns, but I think it would be neat to have a non restricted M4. I miss my AR, and I'd love to have a non restricted replacement as close to the original as possible.

I think putting useless / non functioning parts on this rifle just to make it look like an AR is kinda cheesy. Is this a toy, or a firearm?

The tactical solutions upper which fits onto a standard AR-15 lower also doesn't have the bolt catch or a functional forward assist. The bolt catch would be nice. Still a .22 AR or AR style/type of rifle is a lot of fun in .22. One thing I found however was the 15 round mags were very reliable. The high capacity 27 rounds mags create lots of FTF and misfeeds. The M4 may be similar.
