COMING SOON: Adler Arms RF224 11.7'' Shorty Tacticool 22 LR Rifle *Open for Backorder*

This is incorrect and I was curious if the member I'd asked the question to was under the same impression.

Many clones do not require any augmentation at all. They are able to fit regular 10/22 mags as well as the Tuff 22 mags.
Why is that? Which clones do you think work without modifying the mag well?
Dlask refers to their Tuff 22 as a 10/22 pattern rifle as it's not a true clone.

Dlask seems to think that they designed their Tuff mags to specifically not work with stock 10/22 magwells... but what do they know?

:)

(From Dlask's website)We collaborated with HC3R to have them manufacture these little beauties. What are they you ask ? Well, long story short they are a direct fit for our TUF-22 (Ruger 10/22 pattern) rifles. They feature a small plastic tab on the front that fits into the TUF-22 receiver. Because factory Ruger 10/22 rifles and Ruger Charger pistols don’t have this cut-out the magazines won’t fit. We submitted them to the RCMP for approval and got it. They agree that since the magazines dont fit into a non-modified Charger, and it’s illegal to modify the Charger to accept them, they are 100% A-OK to use them in our TUF-22 rifle or even a modified (yes, it is perfectly legal to modify a rimfire rifle) Ruger 10/22 type rifle since there is no magazine capacity limit on rimfire rifles in Canada.

If you have a factory Ruger rifle and are interested in having it modified to fit these magazines then please contact us today and we can sort out how best to get that done for you.

Dlask asserts the mags fit their receivers but nowhere do they state no other receiver would fit them.

I mentioned a brand specifically in a reply you responded to. Have a gander before responding please and thanks.

It pretty much says it in the link, and the post above where I pasted it into the post.... not sure what your issue is understanding that the Tuff 22 mags were designed not to fit a 10/22 magwell.

Model C-71 Receiver

The Model C-71 is a drop in replacement for a Ruger 10/22 Receiver. Our receiver is precision machined with an integral top rail and accepts all Ruger 10/22 accessories and magazines. The C-71 also comes factory converted to accept TUF-22 magazines, and still functions with all Ruger 10/22 magazines. Made In Canada.

Thanks for the link to the C71 it's good to know that others are making factory converted receivers for Tuff-22 magazines.... but it sort of emphasizes what I've been trying to tell you.... :)

What are the other many 10/22 clones that you think accept tuff-22 mags without a cut?

And since your so far a head of the curve.... Please tell me who has Tuff-22 mags for sale right now?

Thanks.

Ok, just a little further clarification so we're on the same page. Do you mean to say an SBI receiver (which I believe is considered a clone - correct me if I'm wrong) needs to be augmented to accept the Tuff 22 mags after it's purchased?
Hey, looks like I found the post you were snarking about.... :)

As I said I was unaware that SBI now makes 10/22 based receivers that are pre cut for Tuff22 mags.... good to know!

Now that I do know that, I can help you with your question in this post that you cherish. The newer SBI units that are factory cut forTuff mags do not need to be cut again after it's purchased,,,,, and technically it's not a clone of a stock 10/22, more of a hybrid.

Hunh? We're definitely on different pages my friend! I think I understand where the confusion set in.

I had asked if you believed an SBI receiver needed to be modified "after it was purchased" and you responded claiming "all 10/22 and clone receivers require modification". That was an incorrect answer to my question which I pointed out, buuuut at the time I didn't realize you'd ignored my question and it's context completely! You were making a statement in a broader sense, again, ignoring the context of my question.

When I made the claim that many clones do not require any augmentation to fit regular 10/22 mags as well as the Tuff 22 mags, it was in the context of "after purchase". I fully understand that all receivers that fit tuff 22 mags need to be modified via a notch in the magwell that permits the plastic tab on a tuff 22 mag to key into place.

Hopefully this clears things up as I think our misunderstanding has probably led to members removing themselves from the notifications to the thread!

As far as the other manufacturers and mags go, I'm still hunting these down myself and don't want to ruin my chances of finding one with dwindling stock these days. I know, I know, it seems selfish but we've already given 2 manufacturers for the people interested in this setup, and besides, anyone can do the same leg work/research I have to find out.

However, I promise to edit this response with more options, links and costs once I've completed my build 🤞.

Welcome to gunnutz Malta 1911, most of us are pretty ok with being wrong, I know I am!
The answers to your confusion are in this thread already but as you point out anyone can do an online search or get an agent to do it for them.....
Good luck on your build bud and increasing your knowledge.

You're too much bud! And if you're okay ignoring that you caused the shared confusion which formed our convo then this conversation is done. And just a heads up I'm the one who increased your knowledge, not the other way around.

Once I thought I was wrong..... turned out I was mistaken! Sometimes we just don't know what we don't know.... ya know?

Thanks again for pointing out that there is one other Canadian manufacturing doing what Dlask did, hopefully the many other clones you claim exist that also accept tuff mags will go on sale soon and the tuff mags them selves will actually be available again for people like you to buy and enjoy!

It was nice to meet you and get to know a little bit about how you tick.... it takes all kinds.

My knowledge overflowth thanks to you! I will try not to let it go to my head..... :)
