The production models aren’t butchered up like that at all

I like where your head is at. 6.5 Grendel or 6ARC would be nice.anyone know if this takes AR barrels or bolts for potential caliber conversion? this thing in grendel would make me happy.
Bullseye just added a bronze/walnut version for $100 more. still waiting on the black friday sale however ...Where were you able to buy the bronze and walnut version?
But the finish makes it look better! Like lipstick on a pig.According to Innavedaw's picture the bolts on production models are still being butchered by a gronk using a angle grinder and might even be drilling them by hand with how chewed up those holes are.
You can see every pass the angle grinder made in the butcher process, they made no effort to clean it up before doing a equally bad bluing job on it.

Put just over 200 rounds through it yesterday. First 30-40 shots were frustrating…feeding issues and light strikes. For the first few mags it seemed like every 5 rounds there was at least one round that wouldn’t strip completely and go into battery and one light strike. As I got up to about 50 rounds, the issues began to occur less and less. By 75-80 rounds, it was running smooth and there was only one stoppage after that and that was my fault not seating the mag properly. Seeing as this is essentially a shotgun trigger pack and shotgun action, wondering if this was due to the usual break in associated with a semiauto shotgun…
Once zeroed, accuracy was as good as any AR I own. Was able to put 25 rounds in the black at 100m seated with only my elbow resting on the bench using 55gr Norinco white box ammo. I am pretty confident that with a decent rest or bipod and using better ammo could have kept all rounds in the white centre. That will be the next test.
After that it was mag dump time -100 rounds steady, some as fast as i could go, others just with a steady cadence and finally the last 30 rounds just as controlled pairs. Not a single hiccup except for the aforementioned mag seating / user error.
Internals are not nearly as horrible as the video and I assume because they had the prototype for review…not necessarily the choice I would make for a first look at a new rifle I was marketing, but hey…not my call. I don’t mind the machining at all but I am not a machinist - I just care that it works and so far it does.
Overall, very happy with this rifle. I think the aesthetics are awesome…was always a fan of the Jesse James Califas Nomad and the Fightlite SCR so not a stretch there…and looks like now that it is broken in it runs really well and has enough accuracy to hunt with. Glad I bought it.

looks like crusader is burning through their inventory of crypto parts. i guess the smart money is to wait until they use them all up and have to start producing backland-specific bcg's. on the other hand, the presumption is that if one of the hack jobs comes apart then it is a justifiable warranty call, except that rumors of poor warranty support abound. just have a look a their website ...But the finish makes it look better! Like lipstick on a pig.
I would imagine hacking up and drilling holes in a heat treated BCG is not a good idea to begin with.
Crusader Arms has horrible customer service, does lousy work, and uses poor quality parts (like a gas key coming loose after a couple hundred rounds). I have first hand experience with all of it.
I will never buy anything from them again.
Chinese and Turkish guns look better than this. If I want Crusader Arms quality I'll go to the Khyber Pass. At least it's cheaper.
By taking out the pin that holds it in place.Maybe I'm not looking at it right, but how are you getting the tail off of the bolt carrier?
Right, you just using a pair of pliers or did it just easily fall out in yours?By taking out the pin that holds it in place.
I said this long ago at the start of the thread and everyone wanted to debate me.So a semi-auto rifle takes a butchered AR-15 bolt carrier with bolt that's been modified to use the Benelli M4 gas system yet still uses the AR-15 direct impingement system (gas block, gas key, and gas tube). To top it off it also uses AR-15 barrels and handguards.
Anyone want to wager what the RCMP Firearms Lab will decide when they examine it and issue an FRT? They will use that vague variant term we have grown to hate.
Crusader Arms is unloading all their surplus parts to make a quick buck and will walk away again when the FRT is issued. This is Crypto 2.0
Meanwhile, good luck getting repairs or warranty work on your rifle. I can't even find the Crusader Arms website or contact information anymore.
Used a punch. Took a couple of taps.Right, you just using a pair of pliers or did it just easily fall out in yours?
You mean to tell me that our beloved Canadian gun industry would do such crude work and sit in the shadows of deceit preying OUR OWN VERY COMMUNITY AS THEY HAVE FOR YEARS? How dare you speak the truth in here, you unpatriotic liberal communist! A brain with valleys, wrinkles and critical thinking? Here?! It could be that the people buying these don’t care so much what the RCMP lab does with the FRT.You mean to tell me that our beloved Canadian gun industry would do such crude work and sit in the shadows of deceit preying OUR OWN VERY COMMUNITY AS THEY HAVE FOR YEARS? In all seriousness though, when that FRT gets handed down, I imagine someone is going to have a not so pleasant one on one with the RCMP as to why they keep producing variants.
What kind of accuracy are you getting out of it?I really like mine so far, I think its better then anything else that's currently available
It will prob get banned eventually as everything will if our crooks in power continue to be
I'll just keep enjoying it in the meantime and in between time
Hah, so funny story, took another look at the bolt carrier just to make sure I wasn't crazy.Used a punch. Took a couple of taps.
I could live with that on a sub 1K gun but on a 2K gun?Hah, so funny story, took another look at the bolt carrier just to make sure I wasn't crazy.
The hole for the pin that retains the recoil tail was never drilled all the way through the bolt carrier on my rifle. There was about 1-2 millimeters of material left on one side blocking the pin from going all the way through. I had to drill out the other side just so I could get a punch in there to tap it out XD.
