Put just over 200 rounds through it yesterday. First 30-40 shots were frustrating…feeding issues and light strikes. For the first few mags it seemed like every 5 rounds there was at least one round that wouldn’t strip completely and go into battery and one light strike. As I got up to about 50 rounds, the issues began to occur less and less. By 75-80 rounds, it was running smooth and there was only one stoppage after that and that was my fault not seating the mag properly. Seeing as this is essentially a shotgun trigger pack and shotgun action, wondering if this was due to the usual break in associated with a semiauto shotgun…
Once zeroed, accuracy was as good as any AR I own. Was able to put 25 rounds in the black at 100m seated with only my elbow resting on the bench using 55gr Norinco white box ammo. I am pretty confident that with a decent rest or bipod and using better ammo could have kept all rounds in the white centre. That will be the next test.
After that it was mag dump time -100 rounds steady, some as fast as i could go, others just with a steady cadence and finally the last 30 rounds just as controlled pairs. Not a single hiccup except for the aforementioned mag seating / user error.
Internals are not nearly as horrible as the video and I assume because they had the prototype for review…not necessarily the choice I would make for a first look at a new rifle I was marketing, but hey…not my call. I don’t mind the machining at all but I am not a machinist - I just care that it works and so far it does.
Overall, very happy with this rifle. I think the aesthetics are awesome…was always a fan of the Jesse James Califas Nomad and the Fightlite SCR so not a stretch there…and looks like now that it is broken in it runs really well and has enough accuracy to hunt with. Glad I bought it.
