Yeah, it wasn't great to have to do.I could live with that on a sub 1K gun but on a 2K gun?

That’s nuts…I was not sure what you were getting at when you asked…I have not had any issues with my rifle thus far other than cosmetic stuff with the BCG.Hah, so funny story, took another look at the bolt carrier just to make sure I wasn't crazy.
The hole for the pin that retains the recoil tail was never drilled all the way through the bolt carrier on my rifle. There was about 1-2 millimeters of material left on one side blocking the pin from going all the way through. I had to drill out the other side just so I could get a punch in there to tap it out XD.

Did your bcg have a spring to hold the firing pin in the return position? because mine doesn’t have one and I haven’t been able to get a single round out of it and no help from crusader.Hah hah, yeah, honestly I felt alittle silly asking, but I just wanted to confirm what it should have looked like and what the procedure should have been.
Still, works fine now soooo, win? I did get it $200 off the price I've seen everywhere ($1799 instead of $1999) else so at least there's that lol.
As in you can't get it to fire?Did your bcg have a spring to hold the firing pin in the return position? because mine doesn’t have one and I haven’t been able to get a single round out of it and no help from crusader.
Just circling back on this…Installed a new bolt and brought it to the range. Fit and functioned as normal. Installed two additional bolts when I returned home and both fit easily and seemd to function in dryfire. Thanks for the info! Do you have a spare AR bolt assembly to confirm if it sits properly in the modified carrier? Thanks!
Generally speaking an ar15 BCG will not contain a return spring for the lightweight firing pin.Did your bcg have a spring to hold the firing pin in the return position? because mine doesn’t have one and I haven’t been able to get a single round out of it and no help from crusader.

more gas should fix that - a grendel barrel should have a gas port of appropriate size. my concern for x39 and grendel is the trigger. these guys typically have harder primers that need more of a smack. on an AR platform you could just use heavier springs or a trigger pack designed for x39; not sure what possible with the backland trigger group. Thanks!
As long as the barrel uses a standard AR barrel nut, people should be able to swap in a bolt and barrel for Grendel, 7.62x39, or 6 mm ARC. I wonder if extraction on the Grendel would work out better the semi-auto Backland then in the manual action Renegade?
Maybe I'm not looking at it right, but how are you getting the tail off of the bolt carrier?
PM me when you start seeing people's balls grow again and want to start taking ACTION rather than wishful thinking and hiding like turtles every time they threaten to take away another gun. Id like to see this country prosper and be respectable again some day before I die. First course of action might be to stop thinking the liberals and conservatives have anything other than the exact same adgenda, which despite what the conservatives might say, is NOT getting you your guns backPunt the Liberal regime. Fire and prosecute the Lab Rats and the Public Safety cants persecuting us. Delete the FaRT. Codify property and gun rights. Restore justice.
Yw GrimRX, sorry to hear the troubles.Appreciate it, but the whole drama's already played out. Turns out my bolt carrier was built on a Friday Afternoon and did not have a hole drilled all the way through for the pin. I had to drill about 2mm (ish) of material off the other side to gain enough access to put a punch to it and punch out the pin.
On the bright side, I had gotten it for $1799, rather than $1999, lol.
Looks way too low. Would need to add some sort of riser for sure.PRE-ORDER: Crusader Arms Backland Hunter Fixed Rear Stock Kit, Integrated Pistol Grip
