Crusader Arms Crypto

I don't think it is so much a question of making it work, as it is what kind of POS will you be left with once the fun of building is done? Those machining inconsistencies are cause for considerable concern about the quality of the interior finish. Just saying....
I get where you're coming from. That said, I'd give them the benefit of the doubt that those pictures are an early prototype just to get the product out there. I would assume they have tweaked the machining program since then. Hopefully.

That said, I would have ran a perfect one to put pictures up.

Plus the main performing parts are going to be US made barrels, bcg, triggers, buffer systems etc. There’s really not a lot of dimensions that needs to be correct to have a reliable system.
I admire your optimism. However, having owned a Templar in the past? I cannot share your confidence.

I mean for those build kits, not templars parts. In other words, if the upper receiver bore and buffer assembly are in a straight-ish line, I can make it work with all the AR parts I have.
I have no doubt that you can make it work by filling a Crusader shell with quality AR15 parts. My concern would be what you are left with in terms of appearance, fit/finish, and resultant resale/investment value. Not a gamble that I am interested in taking, but all the power to ya!

If the Crypto turns out to be actually NR for real, and "useable" without warranty filing to be a rifle, I hope they get a .308-scale builder kit put out for those with battle rifle desires

That was what sold me on the receiver kit. It is just going to hold top tier parts.

I plan on losing money and running the hell out of this thing. Win a couple matches. Get my dad and kids out doing drills in the bush. Smoke a deer this fall.
Buying memories and trying to make up for the last few years.

It looks like the modern sporter with a different mag well

Pretty much how I look at it...an ATRS MS with a proprietary magazine.
Which then makes me wonder: How is this new gun labeled non-restricted by the "brain trust" in the RCMP's firearms lab, but the ATRS MS got a prohibited listing following the FRT rigging following the May 2020 OIC?

Didn't go to the lab.

It hasn't been labelled "non-restricted" by anyone, other than the guy who is selling them.
The RCMP hasn't inspected it, or given it an FRT of any kind.

If you get caught with one; It will be up to you alone to convince the police that it's "non-restricted".
Assuming you fail at that; You will then get a chance to convince a judge that it's "non-restricted" when you get to court.

Uncharted waters really.

Has there been anyone charged with “prohibited” thingies mistakenly sold as NR? Magazines, converted full autos or anything?

Unfortunately, based on what I have seen and heard from crusader arms, I will not be partaking in this experiment. I would rather chance it with BCL as at least they have excellent customer service (at least they did some years ago).
