CSAAA Resignation, Ryan Harriman

A good national press conference explaining what happen and how the Libs twisted everything detail by detail, and then maybe (CCSA)will regain the TRUST from its members.

How about the CSAAA is disbanded, all involved get fired.

Anyone else that is lying comes clean.

Has this fiasco just compromised every OIC court proceedings in Canada?

It sure looks that way to me.

Somethings I can't discuss due to NDA's but I think most of this should be OK. I knew there was a contract to assist dealers with inventory and if you read my second post I think it explains why there was and what it was for, not the lies the gov't told this morning. I've never heard of it called "1st step towards buyback". If it was officially called that I would be even more upset than I am today. I didn't know how much it was for. Maybe I should have, maybe I wasn't paying attention, I'm not sure but I had no memory of that sum until I saw it today in a post someone shared with me. I think most people think a board of directors is some all powerful group of people in the movies. There are 13 people on the CSAAA board I believe and only a few of them make up the executive of the board. The rest are directors at large.

Were there any initial meetings prior to this happening? I am surprised they made you sign a NDA with not all terms set and some kind of outline as to how it would all go down. Or did it?

I think there is some confusion on the NDA topic. I’m not talking about an NDA with the gov’t I’m talking about the general NDA that all board members sign each year regarding board meetings etc. There are only a few members of the executive who would have had to sign an NDA with the govt. I was not part of the executive (Pres, VP etc) so I was not one of the ones who took part in any negotiations so I didn’t sign an NDA with the govt. Hopefully that makes sense.

I’m not sure how every boards works but for most the Pres and VP make every day decisions. The directors at large are there for committees, discussion etc. Google director at large and it should give you an idea of what they do.

That isn't a bad idea but you'll need to message them that...I'm no longer part of any group conversations with them.

I believe and respect your sincerity, you can initiate your own press conference considering you were a former board of CCSA, maybe the organization will follow up of their own public announcement.

What kind of parts are you thinking dealers stocking...we're always open to new ideas.

Not to be off-topic but it would be awesome if there's a spare Beretta 92 barrel (preferrably an inox steel one compatible with the 92s--or one I can cerakote to steel grey), I'd love to give you money for it

My surplus 92s Samurai Edge is just missing the barrel lol

Back on topic though, I appreciate the transparency and the explanation on your end

Would you rather all the good dealers get stuck with the bill for the kings decree and us be stuck with only cabe1as and cantire to buy guns and ammo from?

It’s really too bad there isn’t a channel for dealers to sell their stock of “prohibited firearms” into the us. At least to avoid having to see it all go under the steam roller. Because when that day comes you know they’re going to live stream that on all the mainstream news outlets, talk about “progress”, and follow it up with a interview with the public safety minister claiming that gun crime is now magically down by 89%. And that is the day that the fight will be lost

They should have waited until all court cases were completed... They could get together and create a fund to support each other... There are many options out there...

That clears alot up and makes sense. I appreciate your position, as not a great one to be in. Thanks Ryan

Well many dealers might face bankruptcy if an agreement wasn't made. I can't blame them for negotiating. I'd prefer to have my local dealer around.

That’s exactly the point. Some of these businesses have active court cases going on against the government and find that an association that they belong to has capitulated and made a secret deal with the government. Certainly not good…

This fiasco has jeopardized every current and future court cases regarding the OIC, period!.......:(

Sorry.. I don't buy that the CSAAA was helping people figure out inventory.. if you don't know what you have and what you paid, your business was already tanked.

Yes, you are right. And don't forget almost all gun dealers hiked hand gun price as soon as they heard news of C-21 last year. Only Tenda still offered reasonable price. Most of gun dealers didn't help law abiding gun owners to buy a gun at reasonable price, instead they increased price immediately and scooped more profit from us. They love money much more than shooting sport and gun community.

The writing is on the wall for many gun shops, taking a deal will only extend the lifeline so long.

Very few selection of firearms available and the economy are big factors.

I see some retailers around my way starting to pivot towards the fishing world/outdoors while still catering to the firearms community.

What a mess Canada is. What a tough spot for retailers ….. a tough spot for individual owners and even tougher spot for retailers. What snakes the liberals are. What a sham that stealing lawfully bought products is allowed. So many people .. so many individuals and retailers that have so much money tied up. When will this terror of a government finally end? No other group of people would or could be treated this way.

Doubt it will. the fact people believe Mendicino over the CSAAA is quite telling. the person that has been blatantly lieing to us for the last 3 years, ####ting on us every chance they get. they say one thing. and now they speak the gospel.

Can we sue (CSAAA) them for lie?
