I needed my LTATT before they issued my a STATT. I just got my restricted 3 months ago.
And sadly, just started shooting it because of all the wait times. About 1 1/2 months before all my paperwork was in order.

Like I said if it is your first restricted it takes longer
Once transfer is approved if you get the dealer to mail it to you you don't need a STATT

If the transfer is approved they can send it . Just make sure you are home when Can Post delivers otherwise you will get a delivery attempt notice saying you can pick up your package at the post office.

I sent my application in a week ago, and called yesterday to see what was going on...they told me it would be at least 3 more weeks.
4-5 weeks is the official backlog as of yesterday, for processing your LTATT.

heres the kicker, they wont approve the transfer without a LTATT haha must be first buyer blues

Seller, in Quebec, completed later that day
MB CFO approved the Transfer the following morning and updated and mailed out a new LTATT to me that day.
Seller mailed gun
Gun arrived a few days later. I emailed my CFO and had an ATT to bring home from post office emailed back to me about 40 minutes later (time before that, 5 minutes..I sh@t you not).
Picked up gun after work that day, took to the range, and basked in the awesomeness that is a .357 Magnum.

I've been reading about the ATT and registrations for quite some time and have notices a lot of province CFOs are using ...email!? What a shock being in the 21st century. I have not read anything regarding BC using this essential piece of technology...
I just called to ask status of my transfer and apparently it took them 4 days to receive the fax of my LTATT application. she said they received it on the 8th and the store faxed it on the 5th of june. She also said about a 3 week wait on the LTATT from time they receive them. this is almost worse than waiting for my pal lol

Yup, they do. I have received many STATT's via E-Mail.
As pointed out by many folks here already .. the first time you apply for anything it takes a long time, after that things improve dramatically. My last handgun purchase took less than 24 hours before I had it home. Bought on Friday afternoon, STATT sent and I picked it up and took it home Saturday morning.

My daughter received her RPAL at the end of April and immediately applied for her LTATT which took 10 days from the time the fax was sent until she received it in the mail. The fax was sent for her by a local sporting goods shop she is a regular customer at which may have had some bearing on the processing time. Last Tuesday I purchased a 9mm from the same store and I'm still waiting for the STATT to be issued so I can take it home.

Faxed in my LTATT application on the 5th of June. Bought a restricted on the 24th private sale.
I don't expect either to be approved within 2 weeks based on the wait times most are currently experiencing.

I applied for my LTATT over the phone on Tuesday and faxed in my club membership immediately after the phone call. I bought a restricted today and was told transfer & STATT could take 2-3 weeks.
I guess I won't hold my breath...
