CVA Scout followed me home

Finally had to scratch the itch on these ones. Nice rifles. The finish is a bit rough, but for $599 definitely a deal. Great trigger on them.

This ones a 450 BM and it is FUN. Between the brake and the heft of the rifle its no worse than a 20 ga with birdshot. If even. Hefty sucker with the 25" heavy barrel but by no means unfortunately so. Forend is a little loose, but other than that, no real downsides I can see.

What a blast to shoot, but of course the cheapo Bushnell Banner II puked its little Chinese guts immediately....or it was already pooched, not sure. Has a Fullfield II on it for the next outing.

They're decent!
Congrats on the new rifle! I have a CVA Scouts in 44 mag, 35 whelen and optima muzzleloader. Awesome quality, for the price and the triggers are fantastic. Now I'm thinking about a 243 or 350 legend lol.

Thank you!

Not hard to see why you have more than one and would like another couple, soon to be in the same boat haha. 350 Legend appeals here too.

Just took delivery of a V2 Scout in .444 Marlin. Mounted a 3-9 scope and looking forward to getting out to the range. Planning on using this on my fall moose trip. 265 gr FTX sitting on H335 for handloads.

I picked one up in .243. What a fantastic little rifle! Extremely accurate and so compact! Perfect ground blind or deer stand set up. Simplicity at its finest!

Be careful about hitting bone with that bullet at 444 speeds. They come apart easy. Even my 20" 44 mag they come apart pretty quickly

There's just got to be another way!
The 3rd shotgun in 2 months is due tomorrow and the wife will be home when it arrives

Plus I want to handle the new stock in person. The v2 td fits me perfectly so I'm not sure about the new comb height. A sponsor not to far from me said they'd call when a 360 comes in. Prophet has the 360 and the 400 in. 2 cartridges thst have interested me. However I firmly believe break actions are best with rimmed cartridges

They are a good deal!

A weather resistant, rugged and accurate take down appealed to me also. Filled a niche as I wanted a rifle that I could travel with more discreetly. Find the barrel heavy and a bit long with the 22" .44 RM. Will probably bring it down to just over 18".

I was curious about the 360 BH as well, I think it'll be a good shorter range option for those who don't hunt at 500 meters.

Ya where I hunt a 100 yards is a far shot and that's only in a clear cut or down a logging road
The 360 shoots flatter and faster than the 4570 and offers less recoil in a easy to carry short trim package
A 200-225gr 358 bullet at over 2000fps is great for deer and bear and likely moose

I've been following this thread since Joel started it ( I blame you ) and am in the process of getting a SS TD in 45/70 . I was looking at other chamberings , but I have a lot of 45/70 consumables at hand . As others have mentioned , I'd really like one in 7.62X39 , mostly for the same reasons as above , but it's also a cool little cartridge . So many choices , so little time .............. and cash .

I grabbed one too! I've always wanted to play with the 450BM

I'm REALLY close on pulling the trigger on a 44mag. The only thing that's tripping me up is the lack of iron sights. I'd like to put it in a backpack/dufflebag and have for around camp for bears etc. I don't want a scope. May have to see if it's a future offering. Such a cool rifle

For everyone that has one of these, how do you like the giant spike protruding from the trigger guard? I have yet to see or handle one in person but in my mind it looks like something I would hate.

The Henry has iron sights, but having to push out a little pin and then having that floating around kinda turned me off a little.

Iron sights would be nice, but I figured I'd mount a scope anyway. And that does slightly increase the take down length.

I see there is a Chiappa Big Badger available now in 30-30, which would be very handy to just unfold.

Doesn't get in the way, and that is the break action barrel release. I didn't know what I'd think of it, and thought maybe the usual tang mount would be more rugged and out of the way, but I kinda like it having used it a bit now.
