CX4 Storm Review

For me, it would be a fun plinking gun out at the farm (in non-restricted form).

It would be good in the car, but we're putting a lot of the MP-5's back into use, so no worries there.

For general patrol use though, we should try and get with the times and have a proper patrol carbine package with C8's like a lot of our municipal and provincial counterparts.
You would be allowed to carry a personal firearm on duty? Or did you just want a chance to mention the MP5 in an unrelated thread?

It was a reply to Canuck44 about the Cx4 as a patrol rifle.
No, you are not normally allowed to carry personal firearms on duty, that's not at all what I meant, but funny how you immediately assumed that
.
I agreed that it would be good, but there was no need since we are using more MP-5's again.

Why didn't you quote luke s and ask him about mentioning the hi-point carbine in an 'unrelated thread'?

Don't bother answering, I know the answer.

I see your point. I should devote more time to reading and less to replying. My apologies for the snarky remark.

well just had my storm out today at the range to test some handloads i used hornady 180 grain xtp bullets in 40 caliber was rewarded with nice jagged one hole groups at 50 yards love this little rifle

Several people have cut off the rear ears to solve the scope issue.

Ahh yes the van Gogh solution!!!!

That and the web between the pistol grip and the stock. Not something I'd want to do, but getting rid of those two "features" would improve the Storm.

Those are two of the improvements that could be made to the Storm. There are several others as well. Fix the mushy trigger, fix the plastic guide rod, can't be left cocked and lock nor dry fired as recommended by Beretta are some places to start too. A serious patrol rifle it is not as suggested.

i'm thinking of picking one up...either new or used. suggestions? or should i just get a pistol. oh, i'm only getting the 9mm version, if i do.

from what i've seen, and shot before, i like it.

Depends what you want your gun for doesn't it. Get both then decide.:D There are good buys on the EE all the time. Decide what you want and how much you want to spend and start looking.

It isn't meant to be a patrol rifle Greg. It is a pistol carbine and is quite effective at ranges inside of 100 yards.

Works for what we can use it for and that is for playing DMG. Easily makes 150 PF which is the benchmark John's multi-gun shoots require.
