Cz 858-2

If someone was to import a pile of CSA VZ58 bare receivers, they could make a killing. I do not believe it is all that hard to swap the parts and barrel from a CZ to a VZ.

Parts - no problem
Barrel- not easy....it's pressed in
A barreled reciever would be good though if the price was right
Preferably chrome lined

It's sad that law abiding gun owners are always on the defense. I'm beginning to think when shopping for a gun "Is this one a potential for reclassification? Maybe they will think it's too scary looking?"

It's sad that some entity within the RCMP can so easily makes a decision that so painfully hurts law abiding gun owners (I know it's politically motivated). Then the onus is on us to try prove that it's a bad decision through time, great effort and expense (Thank you NFA and others)

I see the writing on the wall and am worried for the future of our sport with the way things are going. Especially with ("he's got great hair so I'm going to vote for him") Justin Trudeau waiting in the "wings".

I'm likely being naive here but there should be a different system set up. Maybe have a voted representative gunsmith/expert from each province to form a national panel that will make fair decisions in the interest of our sport and safety. Then at the same time protecting our image by representing us to the public with expert facts.

All PAL/RPAL holders at local gun clubs participate in the vote to elect the representative gunsmith. This panel of Gunsmiths would make the recommendations to the public safety minister. Then let the RCMP stay within their mandate to do police work and not set policy.

So im confused here i thought it was a specific batch that was imported that was deemed prohib in my town theyre still selling on shelves...

This makes me want one even more. But I haven't really seen more for sale

I am curious as to why that is? I notice a lot of people saying it "Oh ####, its going to be reclassified? Better buy one now then!" Why not just buy a fully automatic off the streets? I do not see the attraction of buying a gun you legally wont be able to own when there is other models of it(VZ 58) that are 100% legal and NR still. On top of that, if they DO officially reclassify it, then comes the entire ruling on "These other guns look like it, and function just like it" routine.

And while I am here, why do people piss and moan about this subject? When you see it, dont click the thread maybe? If your life is so dull and boring that you see a thread you have no interest in and click it just to whine about it, maybe its time to get a new hobby... Or just get one. Anyway, our government is , lets say "Not the best" when it comes to firearms, I can pretty much say, I have no doubt they will be, or already are reclassified, they clearly do not mind spending the money to do #### like this. Everyone seems to have this idea that they spend money out of their own pockets for these types of things, they dont, its money out of OUR pocket that they spend. I had a pretty good debate with some military kid (Tough guy Tuesday no doubt) and a clerk at the gun store, another clerk was on my side, the bottom line is, they have done it before, they will do it again and they clearly do not care about price or public relations, owning guns here can be way more a hassle then a privilege sadly.

Maybe the gun owning public are finally growing balls. Many gun owners (the NON-FUDDS) are certaintly not acting like they did in 1992 and 1995 when dozens of models were banned outright without compensation. I think there will be a less of a rush to hand in the hardware to federal government if there is a reclassification.

Alot of people don't remember 1992 and Kim Campbell, banning stuff without compensation. I do....and I remember a lot of gun owners did not register their AKs at the time from non-restricted to restricted because they believed those firearms would be banned outright once they were in a registry. And in 1995 Allan Rock did ban them (they were grandfathered). And I am sure there are a lot of AKs hidden away by the public. Maybe there is hope when people say enough we are not cooperating....we won't be handing our property in.
Only FUDDS would be running to hand their firearms in.

malon labe!

This would be my dream plan. Buy Non-Restricted, watch it get turned to Prohibited, Government gives me 12.x status. What do you think? Valid course of events lol

I am a 12.5 and I cannot go to the range and shoot my Aks, Hk91 Tommy Gun or FNs.......I can only fondle them.
I want to be able to shoot my firearms at the range.

Yeah you might as well have dewats for all the fun you can have with them now. Having your 12.5 status just means the government knows where to go first.

This might sound like a silly idea... but wouldn't this be a good opportunity to push back the RCMP (and government) a bit?

As in, unless 'they' can provide empirical data showing how these so-call new prohibited firearms are <more> dangerous than the regular restricted/non-restricted variant of said gun... the whole 12(3)/12(4)/12(5) firearm classification doesn't any meaningful purpose, therefore it should be done away with... Right?
