CZ 858 Accessories, Thinking about manufacturing them here, Any interest?

I like the scope mount idea! Unfortunatley I would need the buttstock holder(metal peice) from everyones rifle or purchase them and then make the weldment. Has anyone found these peices?

I tried the new muzzle break design last night. Worked excellent. Some reduction in recoil,Huge reduction in muzzle rise! dont know about muzzle flash yet though. Generally quite pleased. I hope to finish my version of the "standard" one today and test them out over the weekend.

Looked into the extended mag realease. No problem. Question is how far below the trigger gaurd would everyone like to see it protrude?

i definately want a "kasat mount " and a muzzle break , which m/break will depend on what i see you come up with.

no need for the extended mag catch or a bipod, sand bags will do.

i found using a bipod was cumbersome , i also didnt like the extra weight in the front.

This should give you an idea of my favorite brake look. It helps in recoil. It might need more top vents though.

Looks like I need to make 3 different styles! No big deal, once the od is turned and the threads are done I can pretty much make it look like whatever.

As for the scope mount, I wonder if anyone has tried the ones from marstar? I like the idea of not having to disassmble the gun to remove the mount. Some people would like it on the front hand guard but I dont think it is possible to make it rigid enough to repeatably return to a stable positon. The thought of the gas rod flying around through the same part as the scope mount without any tensioned fasteners scares me a little, could be hard on the scope! I will try and fablup something like the marstar one and see what the price looks like, I think I can beat it buy about half!

Personally I'd prefer a scope mount with an AK-style side attachment. It's out of the way and since the scopes are QD there really isn't much reason to remove the mount once its on.

.5" would be lots even less would likely be fine too. I wouldn't want it to catch on clothing etc when hunting. I'm a lefty so having the release centred under the rifle would make life a little easier.

That one doesn't look too bad...but I still like the look of the Marstar brake better. That one looks like it belongs in a Japanese cartoon or something.

guys,

Not to hijack your thread here, but these muzzle breaks for the VZ look great, do you guys know of any reasonably priced breaks for the M14 that can replace the cool looking but useless flash hider?

John Marshall - Any chance of you making/testing some for the M14? Lots of us have them and reducing muzzle jump and recoil to get a second shot back on target ASAP is infinitely more important than reducing muzzle flash at night.

IMHO the ak74 m/b maybe be ok if you are shooting alone but it looks like that the side blast might be pretty severe, i wouldnt want to be beside you on the range.:D

that is why kasat tells me he designed his m/b with minimal side blast with a 50% less recoil. i prefer somewhere between kasat and ak74.

he has one listed on EE.

I just purchased 10 feet of material, I would be more than happy to make anyone a muzzle brake for anything they own. Few things though, I dont mind developing parts for the CZ as I like them and shoot mine ALOT. If you are interested in something else I will need rough sketch of what you have in mind, I also need muzzle thread specs and bore dimensions. I cant do all the home work for every black and green gun here! I think I will post 4 or 5 different versions of "standard" ones. If you want full on custom could cost a little more.

As for the Kasat mount, could a similar version not be made that simple replaces the trigger and hammer pins with screws? Sort of like the shotgun side saddle mounts you see for the 870?

His is a great idea, but I think one could be made more solid and not as big using the trigger and hammer pins.

I would love an upper handguard that can be removed without removing my optic (I use a vz scout rail set up). As far as I can tell, there needs to be a relief in front of the gas block so the guard can slide back a bit when the pin is pulled to allow the front lugs to disengage.

Does the scout mount not allow the hand guard to be removed with the scope mount on? That seems kinda dumb? I think it could be redesigned.
Please let me know. I am starting to think the 870 mount is the way to go.

As long as it looks like the Kasat mount, I don't care!
And regarding those AK74 brakes, I guess I wouldn't mind something like that. As long as the thing kills the jump and the recoil...flash and a loud bang is fine by me. :shotgun:

John, I am really looking forward to these scope mounts. I don't have a scope right now, but I will buy one when they are made just so I don't miss out on this!

The AK74 brake, an actual one, is extremely effective at taming recoil and muzzle flip.

If you are so worried about the guy shooting next to you that it effects what brakes you use, I suggest you look into another sport. Perhaps knitting.
