CZ 858 Railed Dustcover (PICS)

first off, dark stain like my rpk version!?!?!?!?!?!?

Love the sprac, the magnifier doesnt really narrow your veiw to much. Your eye is close to the optic with the magnifier in place but if you hold tight during firing it doesnot come in contatct with your eye/glasses.
I use the mag at any range if I choose

Thanks for the information about the sparc. I'm considering that set-up for my rifle, but I'm also salivating over some short-model EOtech with some add-on separate magnifier -- perhaps the less-expensive Primary Arms 3x magnifier.

But I'm getting to the price-point where I might have to make a choice between an increasingly-expensive rifle and domestic tranquility, and I'll have to pick tranquility (unless I can do some nimble political maneuvering -- "you can get this if I can get that"). Or maybe a slow piecemeal approach would be effective, but the only problem with that is that "right now" is when I want everything (I'm not getting any younger).

But even if a political breakthrough is possible, the Eotech set-up might require more rail space than is available. What is the length of the rail on the railed dust cover, close to 5", I hope? How much can any optic poke out over the bolt carrier before ejected cartridges start hitting the optic?

As far as wood color goes, you know how it is with the color of the finish on any piece of furniture -- everybody's got their own preference. I like the color of the wood on your rifle with the drum, only I'd go even darker :D. To me, the less dark-light contrast between the black receiver and wood, the better. But, again, that's just me.

Been there done that.
NEA with the B.C. Tactical set-up rocked but the magnifer and the EoTech plus the rear cover rail added to much weight so I dropped it for now.

The 858 throws the casings to the up and front right, not directly back right (like ARs) that has an effect on the how much can be covered. The only way to know what the clearance range actually is would be to tape a bit of cardboard onto the top of the duct cover and keep moving it forward until it starts to get hit fom casings.

Hey guys.

I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering how you guys feel about the railed cover now that you have had them for a while? Did anyone find a good scope for the rail, or is a red dot allthere is?

Thanks!
